Congratulations to our Biggest Shrinker for the Looking Fine for Valentine’s Challenge! Way to go Kate! She lost 16.7# during our challenge! You are such an inspiration to us all!

Here is Kate’s story:

Kate! I am so proud to say a Sister from my own town is the Biggest Shrinker! What was your starting weight before the “Looking Fine for Valentine’s” challenge? 213.4

(Taken at her heaviest)

Ending weight? 196.7

What made you decide to join the Sisterhood? I had some friends (Melissa, Megan, & Kristin) that had done it.  Plus I can always use some extra support and motivation.

If we were to stalk you for a day, what would your average day’s food plan look like? Breakfast: FiberOne Caramel Delights cereal w/ fat free skim milk or Quaker Weight Control Yogurt Lunch: Campbell’s Healthy Request Light Soup or Salad, sometimes both. Supper: Well, 5 days a week I am at the office over suppertime so I usually have a Lean Cuisine meal and some sort of Green Giant frozen veggie. Snacks: WW yogurt, Sugar free Jello pudding, Reduced Fat Mozzarella string cheese.

I drink at least 64oz of water and 16.9oz of that is mixed with All Bran Fiber Drink Mix, Pink Lemonade flavor.

Clue us in to your favorite “healthy” snack: Probably string cheese or pudding

Do you follow a specific diet plan? I joined Weight Watchers at the same time this challenge started.

What does your exercise regimen consist of? I rotate between the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred DVD and treadmill time.  The treadmill time is currently 3 days a week doing the Couch to 5k program.  I occasionally mall walk on the weekends with a co-worker.

What are your biggest cravings? Do you ever give in? Chocolate and regular Cherry Coke and DQ & TCBY.  I do give in to the Cherry Coke if I have points to spare.  The chocolate is a bit easier, sort of, since I stock up on the Weight Watchers candies.  The ice cream I have done pretty good about saying no when my husband tempts me with it.  I have still indulged a couple of times but made sure I had activity or flex points to spare.

What one item of clothing are you looking forward to purchasing once you reach your goal? New Jeans!!!  Also, a swimsuit that doesn’t look so “grannyish.”

You are such an inspiration to all of us here at Shrinking Jeans! Where do you get your inspiration from? My parents did this about 6 years ago.  I realized, I should do it now.  I also know that we are thinking about trying for baby #3 in the Fall and I would love to be healthy and off of my blood pressure meds.  Oh, one more thing, we are now in week 7 of a health challenge at work and we are all super competitive. Smile emoticon  My team is currently in 2nd place and only behind 1st by 6 points.

What health-related goals would you like to accomplish in the future? My first goal is 30lbs down by my 30th birthday in May.  I also would love to run a 5k with my sister-in-law while my brother and dad run a half marathon.

If you could offer one piece of advice to the rest of us at the Sisterhood, what would you say? There are going to be ups and downs.  Lean on your friends during the downs but remember to let them lean on you as well.  If you have a bad day diet or exercise wise, just start fresh the next day, don’t let it get you down.  That is one of my biggest issues.  I think, “oh well, everything went to heck, might as well give up and just feed my face and be lazy.”

(Kate about 10 lbs. heavier than her current weight)

Thank you Kate! We wish you continued success in your Shrinking!
