What’s up ladies (and one lonely man)?!!!!

Warm weather is popping up here, and there and everywhere. Before you know it, bathing suit season will be upon us! Don’t you just love wearing a bathing suit in a public place? I need a suit that brings the “girls” to attention, minimizes my tummy area, and somehow, somehow eliminates the cottage cheese (I mean cellulite) hanging on my legs. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

In the meantime, our new weight loss challenge for the Sisterhood begins today. Shrink Into Summer. The challenge will run from March 25 (today) – May 20. EIGHT WHOLE WEEKS! If you’re new to the Sisterhood, you can check out information on how our challenges work here.

Make sure you weigh-in with the Sisterhood every Wednesday, because you’ll be eligible to win some very cool prizes! That’s right, every week of this challenge we’ll be randomly selecting one of you to win some fabulous prizes! See over there on the sidebar? That’s a list of all of our generous prize sponsors for this challenge! Winners will be selected from the Wednesday Weigh-In comments and announced on Thursdays.

In addition to the normal Wednesday Weigh-ins, we will also be giving you a weekly mini-challenge to participate in, something to focus on and strive for. Make sure to check back in on Sunday for details of the first weekly mini-challenge. Each mini-challenge will run from Sunday to Saturday, and some of them will also involve prizes! See, we’re gettin’ all gifty on ya!

Are you ready? I know I am ready to kick some serious poundage to the curb.

So go and write a post with your start weight, goals for this challenge, and whatever else you’d like to include. Come back here and leave the link in the comments section so that we can come and check you out. And make sure to grab the new button and post it on your blog!   • I'm jumping in with fear and trepidation...but here I go!

    My start weight is 228lbs. and I would love to lose 15lbs. during this challenge. Hopefully I will continue even after the challenge is over. I'm going to be 50 in August and would love to lose 50 by 50! This is a good starting place...thanks!

    I'm in, starting at 135. Goal is to lose 8 lbs. I am running a marathon relay in May, so hopefully training for that will help me get my goal. I guess cutting back on delicious ice cold beers would help too!

  • I would like to join this challenge! I do however need to weight myself. I will weigh tonight at my house but I am retaining a lot of water so We'll see! I am excited! I do know that as of monday night at my weight watchers meeting i weighed in at 237.2. My goal for this challange is to lose 15 lbs to put me at 222.! I will weigh myself tonight though so i can be accurate!!

  • why do i want to feel so much better, but insist on eating the whole bag of dark chocolate covered cashews in 2 days?! i have no self control over food. i can't stand that. i used to be able to eat whatever i wanted to & the most i could weigh would be 115.

    after having 4 girls in 5 years, i could care less about 115. i just want the stuffing of the belly into the jeans and the hideous back fat to be GONE!

    i don't think i can talk about this on my famiy blog, yet....but i'm SO thankful that i just typed it out here. this is the beginning of taking control. i use the excuse of "just" having a baby for WAY too long. she is now 2 months old and i'm sick of people wondering if i'm pregnant. (or asking when i'm due!!)

    SO, my goal for this 8 weeks is 10 pounds. my goal overall is 27 pounds. i'm so excited to get there.

    You *have* taken the first step and you should be so proud! I'm proud of you. It's so hard to stop making excuses and get busy.

  • I went to the doctor today and he basically told me I had better have lost a LARGE NUMBER of POUNDS when I come back in August...and I had better be healthy doing it.....so this is coming in at the right time for me! Count me in...

Starting weight, 142. Wanna lose 12 pounds (At least). That's less than 2 pounds a week. Sounds really easy, right? NOT! This 12 pounds is hanging on with everything it's got!     Ooooh, I'm SO in on this "Summer" challenge...the last one didn't go so great for me (3 weeks flew by!). I haven't yet posted about this new challenge (I'm trying to decide if I want to start up a weight loss blog instead of using our family blog--what do you guys think?). My starting weight is 159, and I hope to reach 155 (pre-preggo weight) by the end of the 8 weeks...it should be COMPLETELY do-able!

    It's nice to have a weight loss blog if you think you might want to journal often about your journey. When I first started, I didn't really want it on my personal blog because I wasn't really comfortable being so open and honest there! Now I've gotten to the point where I really don't care!

    I guess I'm trying to say that in the beginning, I loved having a place to spill it all without worrying about my brother or neighbor reading it :)
  • Okay, so I started a bit early - lost 2.2 pounds already in the past 2 weeks. I'm down to 137.8. I'd love to continue losing 1 pound a week, which would put me under 130 at the end of this challenge. Unless I get pregnant. Then my goal is to keep the weight gain reasonable.     I didn't weigh myself first thin this AM, so right now, after breakfast and lunch, I am 173.2

    Which means I gained back the weight I lost in the Valentine's challenge. Oy!

  • Ok - I'm seriously all in for this challenge. May 20 just happens to be the day that I leave for an old friend's wedding (a vacation which I will be going on with no children by the way!). I'd love to be seriously rocking a size 10 dress by then. (Of course, I'd also love to be pregnant and seriously rocking a size 12-14 but I'm not waiting on that anymore since it's taking longer than I hoped). Today I weigh 154.2. My initial goal is to break the 150 barrier that I've been resting behind for quite some time now. Then, I really love to hit 140. That may be a little too ambitious for 8 weeks - but .. I've been to the gym and eaten really well for 3 days straight now so I'm feeling good.

  • Totally lovin' the new challenge however I have one, teensy tiny little nitpicky thing - every single button says 'summer' on it! What about us southern hemispherans? LOL. Feels kind of wrong to have a 'Shrink Into Summer' sun badge on my blog when the weather will soon enough turn nasty down here in Australia, LOL.

  • Ooooh, yes please! I mean, I like the sun button and everything, but we just went through a heatwave in late Jan/early Feb with temps close to or above 110ºF (and generally warm weather all there rest of Feb and into March so honestly? I'm glad the sun is behind us, LOL.
