Mini-Challenge #2 – Drink up, girls and boys!

Since we started the 30 Day Shred at the Sisterhood today, we think it would be a great idea to have a mini-challenge that revolves around water consumption! If you’re Shredding with us, you should be drinking so much water!! Water will help your muscles release the toxins and keep you from feeling so sore. Don’t get me wrong, you’re still going to be sore, but drinking lots of water will help! Even if you’re not doing the Shred with us, you should still be consuming at least 8 8 ounce glasses of water a day. That’s 64 ounces!

So this week, we’re challenging you to get in a minimum of 64 ounces of water a day. EVERYDAY!!

  • i NEEDED THIS CHALLENGE!!! & I had no idea.. I am really good @ getting 40+ oz in but it really wasn't enough & I knew it.. my goal was 80 but I usually hit a happy medium @ about 60. since this challenge I have gotten 64 every day & a couple of times 96!

  • I bought a 32oz plastic water bottle at WalMart (BPA safe!) and it's been super easy to keep up with the water downage...just drink two of these babies a day and I'm set. Plus, doing shredding means I usually drink more than 2 a day. I just take the water bottle with me wherever I go and sip sip sip.
  • I need to start counting but I know that I drank at least 5 20 oz. glasses yesterday!
    So far today I have had 2 glasses (20 oz each)...
  • I only got 6 glasses in yesterday...ugh

    I've been trying to do that for a few weeks already. I think I finally just got the hang of it!
  • To help with some of the muscle pain and cramps, I would also recommend adding a calcium supplement to your diets.
  • I only got in 5 cups yesterday...ugh.
  • Oh! Here's a challenge I can do! I have my 1-liter Sigg water bottle with me at all times. I almost always drink two of those every day. Sometimes I supplement the water with a glass or two of wine though. ;-)
  • I've found that once you start drinking water, your body craves it and it's not so bad. I used to drink nothing but Diet Cokes all.day.long. No water at all. Once I started on the water, I felt like I needed it and I was parched if I didn't get enough in. It's strange how the body works like that!

    When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was drinking over a gallon a day because I was thirsty ALL THE TIME. I couldn't get enough. Now I try to get at least 64-96 ounces in a day, and I do a pretty good job most of the time. Some days I slack, though.

    I've found that having a big water bottle (mine is a 32 oz. Rubbermaid) with the ounces marked on it, helps me keep track.

    joining in this one a little late, but I definitely need water, I don't think I drank a single glass today! Hopefully I can do it tomorrow! Did I mention I hate water?

    I'm in! Water is all I drink but I'll have to drink more!!! Today was my 5th day of the 30 day Shred! Today was hard...I didn't feel like doing it but SO glad I did! Thanks for the motivation!
  • I'm not a fan of water but adding lemon always seem to help. I can't find the link right now, but I read somewhere that adding a half a lemon to your water is good for cleansing the kidneys too.

    Ok, i've had about half of my water for the day and I think I've peed 6 times!!
  • i try to do this any way - but sometimes i'm too lazy to get up from my desk to go to the bathroom that often

    *hangs head in shame*

  • I'm all over this one. Water is the one thing I've never had an issue with, but I need to get back up to my usual 96 oz. a day. My tummy will thank me!

    Good challenge! I usually try to drink that amount, now I wiil be sure to drink at least that much per day-thanks for keeping me on my toes!
  • This is a great challenge too! Something that I really need to work on.
  • peice of cake. I've already drank that much this morning between the shred and the C25K and it's only 11:30am
  • I'm really bad at drinking water so count me in. This will hopefully get me in the habit of drinking water daily.
