.!.

You may remember TJ from earlier in the year when she put our inquiring minds to ease by answering our fitness questions! Well, guess what? She’s back! TJ and Christy created Run U Mother with hopes of empowering women and to inspire moms to get active and get moving.

Today, the Sisterhood and Run U Mother want to know:  Who (or what) inspires you to be a running mother? Or WANT to become a running mother? When you have to dig deep down just to keep on moving, who or what is it that gives you the spark to keep on going?

To enter:  Leave a comment below AND copy and paste it to an email for TJ here: getit@runumother.com.

The winner will receive her choice of gear from the For U Mother shop!

We can’t wait to hear where you get your inspiration!

The contest will run through Thursday, October 15th at 11:59pm Pacific time. Winner will be chosen by TJ and announced thereafter. Good luck!

Deep down I have always been a runner. I started when I was 5 and wanted to go run with my dad. I ran on and off throughout my elementary years and then started with track and cross country in junior high. Running was always the one thing I could do where ever I was. I took a LONG break from it and started back up after my second daughter was born. My pregnancy weight was falling off like I wanted it to. I got a treadmill for Mother's Day that year. It has been one of the best investments. I still have never been consistent for more than about 3 or 4 months. But since joining the Sisterhood last year, I have been on my treadmill on average 3 days a week since last September. I love what running does for my body. I love the moments of quiet away from the kids to just to what I want. I love that my girls see me exercising and making it a priority in my life. I will be honest, I have a half-marathon coming up next weekend. When it's done I'm probably going to take a break for a few weeks. I'm a little burned out on my treadmill. But I know that it will be there waiting for me when I'm ready to get back on.

not entering the giveaway here but what keeps me wanting to run? (because it's really only kind of ok to me as far as sports go, but it really does do the trick to keep me healthy!) what keeps me wanting to run is seeing constant changes in myself and my body from doing it. running consistently has made me able to run longer, lose some fat, gain great cardiovascular fitness, and has made my legs strong. it's also shown me how to be mentally strong.

i run because i want to be strong and show my children how to be strong. i want to keep up with them and one day i want them to keep up with me. i want to be around for a very, very long time. i want them to be healthy. i want to show them how. the more i run, the stronger i see myself become and the more i see what i can do if i put my mind to it. running has become a metaphor for my life. it's shown me that you can do great things if you just keep going and never, ever stop!

Why do I run? Cause I can. Because my body will let me, because it is healthy and strong and I need to treat it with respect. As much as it hurts, as much as I don't like it some days, I RUN BECAUSE I CAN.

I am not a mother yet, but that is why I started to run. We are trying to start a family and I want to be a mother who is able to keep up with her child. How awesome would it be to run a race with my child when they are grown! I want my heart to be healthy so I can live a long life with my mind clear and focused. Those 30 minutes when I am doing my training for the day are so peaceful and unstressed-I look so forward to it!
