True Confessions Monday

October 26th, 2009 | Comments | Posted in True Confessions | by heather

Guess what?

It’s MONDAY! Wheeee!

Sorry, had to do it. If you feel anything like I do this morning, you probably want to slap me through the computer.

It’s okay, you have my permission. I will take one for the team this lovely Monday.

Caffeine, where art thou?

Okay, other than rambling and being annoying, I AM here for a reason this lovely morn. IT’S TRUE CONFESSIONS DAY! Here are mine:

1) I have not exercised in two weeks. And I have a 5K in less than two weeks. I am terrified. And I will be forcing myself out in the rain today for a run to assess the damage to my fitness level. Wish me luck – it could get ugly.

2) I ate fast food last night. It gave me a stomach ache, like, REAL BAD. When will I ever learn?

3) A quick note on Fiber One Bars: do not eat before you have a social engagement. That is all.

4) It has started raining here – and I find it very difficult to be motivated about much of anything besides sitting on the couch watching Biggest Loser with a bag of chips when it’s raining. We were spoiled with a lovely summer and now I’m concerned about how my weight loss/fitness journey will fare now that I’m living in the land of Seasonal Affective Disorder…ahhhh. Lovely Pacific Northwest!

5) But there is light at the end of the tunnel – we’re going to Kauai over Thanksgiving. That means BATHING SUIT. Gulp. Digging out 30 Day Shred as I type!

So, how’d YOU do this week?

  • Where is everyone?? I can't believe that I am the first to post today.
Okay, I ate at Denny's yesterday and didn't order from the 'lite' menu. Just bacon and eggs, but I know that they drench everything in butter, except the toast. I had to ask for more...just kidding...I mean, I did ask, but then changed my mind. I almost finished Mom's pancakes, but kept my hands in my lap while salivating. I did okay there, but then at home I had a Hostess Chocolate Cup Cake - yum. Sorry, but there it is.
  • I am suffering from lack of motivation too. We need Christie to kick our asses. I am so incredibly jealous of your Hawaii trip!

    i did great this weekend.

    seriously.

except for that catcus blosson (deep fried onion).

but then i ran for 10 miles w/o stopping. even for traffic. or for a turkey running into the road. or to admire the leaves.

running in the national park isn't as tranquil as you'd think. i sucked car exaust the whole time and had at least 2 cigarettes.
  • mmmm. blooming onion. i have a hungry girl recipe for blooming onion that involves fiber one i still need to try.
  • It's cold and rainy here, too, Heather. YUCKO. Makes me want to put on my fleecy pjs and warm and cozy socks and do nothing but snuggle on the couch!!

I'll get my true confessions up tonight!!
  • hawaii!! woot!!! oh, fast food is my enemy. that's my confession. plus the big hot fudge sundae the size of my face on Tri day. but i give myself tri day to do what i want. that doesn't explain the wings on sunday, but still. back at it today! let's hop to it sister! you jump i jump!

True confessions?! A mix of the good and the bad today.
    1. I too live in the Northwest (born and raised and hope to move back "home" to TN...long story) and am ever so thankful for my treadmill!!
    2. I was on the treadmill 5 different days last week!!
    3. I planned on eating better last week and I did.
    4. I blew it last night. We stopped at the store and all picked out frozen finger foods then sat down to watch the Giants.
    5. I said I was going to phase 1 again today but ate several small brownies already. Now I want thin crust pizza from Papa Murphy's.

A couple good things and some bad. Working on changing a few of the "bad" this week.

I'd like to add that I'm not caving to the temptation of the p word. I do have a light Manhattan seafood chowder (really more like a stew) on the stove top.
  • I'm not sure where in the PNW you are, but oh my goodness this afternoon was perfect for a run! Thank goodness!

We're in Longview. We had a brief moment of clearing during so the clouds were black in the distance. Man oh man did it bring in a down pour and some wind
