True Confession Monday!

November 16th, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Challenges | by thea

Let’s just start off with a bang, shall we?

  • Don’t tell anybody, but I’m a little over my computer right now.  I can’t figure out why, but I don’t want to read blogs, write blogs, or comment on blogs. Facebook is making me feel left behind and Twitter…well…I can’t catch up.  It’s a conundrum, because you know I love all of you!
  • I need to stop buying Chex Mix “for Thanksgiving”.  I’ve tried buying it “for Thanksgiving” 3 times now.  I have to buy another bag this week.
  • I lied to my son about whether the cookies I made have pumpkin in them.  I told him no.  He ate one. I laughed a little on the inside.
  • Between laziness sickness and laziness not wanting to strain my knee, I have not logged a single mile since last Monday.  That puts me a little behind  in my quest for 60 miles in 6 weeks.
  • I rationalized having a bowl of ice cream this week by telling myself I needed to dirty a dish so I didn’t waste water by running the dishwasher before it was full.

So how about you?  Care to air your dirty laundry?

  • Whenever I want to sit down and scarf a big cookie (usually around 4 p.m. in the afternoon) I instead sit down away from my workplace and have a cup of coffee. Sometimes I still go for a cookie afterward, but sometimes this helps. Hope you feel better soon.

so can't you log in some miles via the bike or swimming.. depending your knee ailment biking can be okay.. and swimming well??? hope your knee heals soon..

I got a new scale on Friday. It said the same thing my old scale said on Tuesday. I managed to weigh .2 less today than Saturday morning which totally rocks because I always blow it on the weekend. Especially the weekends that we are out of town. We were out of town last weekend. Due to laziness, being tired and a sore knee, I too have not logged a single mile on the treadmill since Tuesday's log.
  • Good job on not blowing it over the weekend! I wish I could say the same!;)

I try to only have 1 coke a day as I don't think I should give it up totally, even though yes, I know its not good for me at all. But everyone once in a while, I have a relapse and have more than one. I guess I'm going down instead of up when I croak! ;-)

i was on vacation a week and a half. didn't log a single calorie. didn't exercise more than a bit of walking here and there.

i cheated and weighed this morning just to see the damage.

    i'm very pleasently surprised!

i'm nervous about the half marathon this weekend - this tapering thing feels weird to me. i haven't ran less than 5 miles in weeks, yet i'm supposed to only do 2 miles on Wednesday, then nothing Thursday or Friday?
  • You will ROCK the half marathon. You will OWN it. That is all.

Yay for pleasant surprises!! I can't wait to hear how the 1/2 goes!
  • ohmigoodness it's upon us already!! woooweeee!!! i'm excited for you!! yeah, tapering stinks and feels weird, but you've been working hard and there is nothing you can do this week to make your body ready-er! it's ready!!
  • Chex Mix is my favorite thing in the world. Only the homemade kind, not the crappy kind you buy in a bag.

    I've missed you lately!

My MIL makes a gallon bag full for the hubs every time she comes for a visit. i'm allowed very little. the plus side is that he just eats it for several days and i'm off the hook for dinner.
  • It's been a rough few weeks....I too have strayed from exercising and healthy eating. Wrote about it last night...

    - I love chex mix. Truly. They don't sell it in Canada. This sucks.
    - Although I walked almost 6 mils yesterday, I also indulged and drank 2 cokes, my one bad addiction. Also those President's Choice Greek chips are something that I have a love/hte relationship with. They are damn tasty but oh so bad for me. I feel your pain. Just know we all have times like these.

  • Six miles? Good work! I am not addicted to Cokes, but instead coffee. With cream. I could sip on coffee ALL DAY LONG.
Those chips look amazing, by the way.

cokes are my weakness. i had completely gone away from them (even diets) but then i allowed myself to indulge on vacation. now i'm going to have to cut myself off again. :(

no chex mix? i think the US would accept you to live here on the grounds of a hostile living enviornment in your home country!
