Shrink-a-Versary Extravaganza::Final Weigh-in

It’s true! Today is the final weigh-in for our Shrink-a-Versary Extravaganza Challenge. First thing I want you to do is reach around and give yourself a pat on the back for sticking with the challenge through Thanksgiving and the beginning of the holiday season. WOW!

It’s been 7 weeks, and hopefully you’ve had some great losses! If you haven’t lost much, don’t get down! This is the holiday season afterall, and any loss this time of year should be celebrated. Just don’t celebrate with sugar cookies or rum cake, m’kay? (see first paragraph. pats on back do not contain calories. neither do happy dances!)

So hop to it! Go weigh yourself, blog all about it and come back here and share your permalink. We all want to know how you did, so be sure to let us know what you total loss was for the challenge. We’ll be doling out a very special badge to our Biggest Shrinker. Also, don’t forget to give us your final tally of miles for the Globetrotting with the Sisterhood challenge. We want to see who did the most Globetrotting, and we’ll have a special badge for our winner of that as well!

With Christmas quickly approaching, holiday parties in full swing, baking, parties, and more baking happening, please don’t lose site of your goals! Whether they be to drop a few pounds, lose a little more than a few pounds, eat healthfully, or be more active, YOU CAN DO IT. It is possible to lose or maintain this time of year, you just have to set your mind to it.

And now it’s time for some bullet points!

  • Next Wednesday will be a non-challenge weigh-in! Don’t be a slacker and let all of your hard work go to waste over the next 2 weeks. Be sure to check-in with us and let us know how you’re faring.

  • Oh, heck. I don't remember where I was at at the beginning of the challenge, exactly, but my blog entry for 10/28/09 said I was "back in the 190s." (Aha! Found it: I was at 190.2.) So this challenge for me was all about holding the line and not letting the post-tri gain creep up any farther; to stay in "Onederland." It was scary to see the ups & downs over a few pounds over the weeks, but I claim victory: final weigh-in for the challenge was 189.6. The challenge also motivated me to do a couple more events than I'd planned for the year: an extra 5K race for the year and my first 10K race! Thanks, Sisters & Brothers!
  • Out of the 190's! Hooray...and hooray for your first 10K!

I am down 2.3 pounds as of Monday but I was weighed today and am down another .8 which brings my total weight loss to 11 pounds! http://cutiebootycakes.blogspot.com/2009/12/ope...

  • I'm at a computer for the first time today HOORAY! I'm up 1/2 pound for the challenge, at 135. Darn. But that's still better than gaining a whole mess of weight like I have in years past! So thanks sisters, for standing by me! Lots of non-scale victories this challenge though, and for that I'm happy!

So, I hopped on the scale this morning and weigh exactly what I did when this challenge began. NOT where I had said I wanted to be BUT I have no real gain which is great.
  • Big thumbs up for maintaining, especially around the holidays!

I lost a total of 1.2 pounds. While that may not seem like a lot, I have to applaud myself on pretty much maintaining my weight. Last year? I gained about 5 - 6 pounds during the holidays alone. I started this challenge at 153.3 and ended at 152.1. The day after Thanksgiving, I was at a low of 150.5 and thought I was on my way to getting into the 140s before this challenge. Instead of being disappointed, I'm rejoicing! And will continue to buckle down. I will be taking a vacation to Colorado right after Christmas, so hopefully, I will end up losing weight instead of gaining or maintaining (lots of outdoorsy stuff to do! :D).
  • I love your attitude SO much. And congrats on being down 1.2!
  • BrookeF
colorado sounds great!! :) we want lots of stories/pictures.

and maintenance this time of year is hard - so good job going above and beyond! :)

I am very excited to report that I have lost 1 pound this week. I worked out at Curves 5 times and walked on my treadmill. I had some temptations along the way this week, but I was in control and am still proud of the 1 lb. This challenge has been very exciting for me and I have enjoyed reporting my losses. Thank you!
  • Great news! A pound is fabulous! And even better? Feeling in control. Good job!
  • So here is my Globetrotting recap. I swear I will do my miles today, even if it kills me!

  • Today’s final weigh in for the challenge is 0 loss for the week… but hangin’ tight at 5 lbs for total – morning weight (home scale) is still 221. Total miles for the Globetrotting with the Sisterhood challenge is 24 miles.

I lost track of my mileage somewhere in the middle of this challenge, but can't wait to hear which of the uber-competitive sisters comes out on top!

I'm down 2.2lbs from last week! Yippee!

    http://www.anewkindofnormal.com/2009/12/wednesd...
  • Well, I might have had some great losses, but mostly overall I just maintained. I ended the challenge with a GAIN of 1.2, so my total loss is only 2.8 pounds over the 7 weeks. Blah. And it's been too stinkin' cold to walk for the last 2 weeks, so I've got no more miles to add either.

  • Didn't do the weigh in BUT I'm down one pound this month. I know craptacular. BUT better than up one pound. Right, RIGHT? (said with quivery voice)
  • Down is ALWAYS good. :o)
  • Down a lb this time of year must be looked at as an accomplishment. Really.
  • We're in the same boat...but at least we're headed in the right direction!
  • BrookeF
much better than up. *hugs* especially this time of year.
