Shrink-a-versary Weigh-in, Week 6!!

Alright, ladies and gent(s), it’s Wednesday so you know what that means!

Glee is on tonight!

No wait, sorry.  That’s not why we’re here.  Silly me!  We’re here to weigh in!!

Go jump on those scales and then come back and tell us how you did.  Do you have something to celebrate?  Did you have a major revelation?  Next week is our last weigh in!  Do you need to make that final push to meet your goals?

While I was watching the Biggest Loser Finale last night, I let out a huge AMEN! for Rudy’s comment:  “It may not come off 10 pounds at a time, it may not come off 50 pounds at a time but it does come off.”

That’s the gist of it folks!  If you do what you KNOW  you are supposed to do (and all of you…and me…KNOW what you are supposed to do), it doesn’t matter how much you lose a week or how quickly you lose it.

All that matters is that it’s coming off.

So take those .2 lb losses and cheer!  DON’T MAKE EXCUSES FOR WHY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE! You lost, and that’s what’s important!

And if you gained, you probably know why you gained.  Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start again.

You CAN do this.  You can.

    No gain, no loss (still 160.2), but also zero, nada, zip exercise. Let's see why: Wed-advent service at church, Thurs-daughter's diving meet, Friday-snowed in (1st snow day for the year-I cleaned the house), Saturday-niece's 2nd b-day over 2 hrs from home, Sunday-daughter's gymnastics meet (took 1st in all 3 events-my girl rocks!), Mon-twins band concert, Tues-final diving meet of the year, Tonight-blizzard warnings but took my daughter to gymnastics practice. We are all hoping for another snow day tomorrow. Maybe I'll be able to throw in a dvd :)
  • Congrats on maintaining, girl! With all you have going on, I can see why it's hard to fit anything else in!!! As much as I LOATHE getting up earlier, I think for the next few weeks I'm going to try and get my workout with EA SPORTS Active in as soon as I get up. That way it's done, and I can get all the rest of the stuff I have to get done, DONE!!!

    Thanks :) We managed to get our snow day today, so I'm getting ready to throw in a dvd. Diving season is now done (my daughter didn't make the finals-needed 8 dives, she has 6 or 7) so that will free up some afterschool time for me now. Plus, only 1 more week and then we are off for Christmas Break. Maybe I'll be able to hit the gym a few times a week. Also, don't tell the kids, but they are getting a Wii for Christmas and their mom is gettting the EA Sports game - woohoo! I wish I could break it out now :) I've thought about trying to get up early and workout, but I'm soooo not a morning person! Might have to become one, though.

  • Down 2.6 this week :) Just started back at Weight Watchers 2 weeks ago (this was my 3rd weigh-in) so I'm happy about it.

    I am so excited to report I am down 3 lbs. this week. Total lost 10 lbs. I forgot to report last week...oops! I do have it on my blog though. I have so much more energy going to Curves and walking on the treadmill. This was my best week yet! So pumped!

    Last week was 153.4. This week is 152.3. I had gone up a tad last week and took it down 1.1 for this week. So far, on track for maintaining over the holidays. I'm happy with that! I'm still exercising nearly daily so I'm patting myself on the back. :)

  • Great job this week, Mel! It so amazing to see people maintaining and LOSING this time of year! Makes me want to try harder for sure. Keep up the exercise and you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

    That said, I'm really only down a pound since the challenge started. But this is the time of year where I gain at LEAST 5 pounds. Maintaining? ROCKS for me at the moment!

    I'm so glad I read your post before I wrote my post. I had a .2 loss from last week and I was feeling disappointed, but then I read your post and was encouraged that I had lost weight this week. Thanks for the post, Thea!

  • I don't know if I will get a chance to blog about today's weigh in - BUT, I am down 1.4 since last Wednesday. I am loving the extra accountability of weighing in with you girls on Wed and weighing in at my WW meetings on Saturday. I am using the WW scale as my official weight but it was nice to see 191.2 on my scale!! I am so close to the 180s!! I havent been this weight since I was pregnant (my daughter is now 10)!! I added 8 miles this week but I am not sure what my total is - I am just taking one week at a time!

  • I too have found that getting to weigh in with the sisterhood has made me a bit more accountable for my actions and my weight. I also know that now that my blog is linked to facebook that ALL my friends can see the numbers, so it is important for me to make sure those numbers go down... HUGS YOU WILL BE IN THE 180s in NO TIME...and then out of them too :) Keep up the good work girlie

    This morning's weigh in = depressed. I'm so mad at myself for not sticking to anything remotely healthy this past week. I'm up 3 pounds :(

    Don't be too discouraged. It was one week and its in the past. Just pick yourself up, don't dwell on it and move on. :) Make today the start of healthy again! :D

    Sorry I haven't been very responsive, but I have still been working...I started this challenge at 275, and this last weigh in, I hit 269.8 for a total of 5.2 pounds for this challenge. But, more importantly -- I HIT MY 100 POUNDS LOST MILESTONE!!!! Here is the post:

    isn't that the oddest thing. i'm exactly like that. you'd think the scale going up would mean we'd dig deeper and work harder. but nope. for me, i think "crap, if i'm gonna be fat i might as well fill up on good stuff" and of course by "good" i mean complete crap with not an ounce of nutrition.

  • it is amazing that you are able to maintain & lose while in school! Part of the reason I am where I am (or where I was a year ago) is because of school! Working full time and going to school full time is enough to kill a person!!

    I am proud of you!! Keep up the good work and you will accomplish all of your goals!
