True Confessions Tuesday

[ 49 ] 12/29/2009 |

Well what do you know? Not only is it my FIRST true confessions here at shrinking jeans, it just so happens to be the first confession after Christmas.  It’s not pretty folks, it is. not. pretty.

*While baking many, many cookies this past week in preparation for Christmas, I, Donya, ate a lot of cookie dough. It just so happens that had I not eaten all the cookie dough, I might have had at least a dozen more choc. chip cookies.

*I did not drink enough water, instead I found myself drinking ginger ale.

*While I am being honest here, I had 2 small medium okay large hot fudge brownie sundaes. Each one did make me feel guilty, but wanting more. Damn brownies.

*Since we had chocolate syrup in the house, I also drank alot of chocolate milk as well.  A lot.

*There were times this past week where I was bored and found myself snacking constantly, something I normally don’t do. Tis’ the season.

*I did not to any physical activity at all. None. Unless midnight feedings and diaper changes count. No? Damn.

*As I went back for seconds (something I don’t do) I found myself saying “it’s the holidays” way too many times to count.

*I ate sugar cookies as a pre-breakfast meal while nursing for a few days.

*I ordered and ate pizza twice this week.

download movie *For the first time in weeks I am scared of this week’s weigh-in.

*I Just ate a cookie while typing this, okay I had 2.

Phew, that was a lot.

So, go on.  I can’t be the only one over Christmas to have confessions. Best thing about it though? We are  going to start 2010 with a clean and fresh slate!

Two cookies – puhleez. Been bad bad bad. Walked yesterday. So that was good. I'll have to walk to Europe though to make up for the bad bad bad.

Can I privately confess that I'm finding my MIL to be quite snarky? Because I don't dare right it on my blog. 'K, thanks! Got that off my chest!

OH how similiar is my confessional this week!!! ready to get back to being serious!! I did get up to 64oz of water yesterday! A daily record in a month!! I am not doing an official post of confessions so here's a quicky:
    *too much cookie dough
    *too many cookies/sweets in general
    *too few water oz.
    *too much coffee
*too minutes exercized (is zero a real number?)
    *too much snacking

    :)

There's my confessions…it's been awhile…so I kept it short in order not to bore anyone! lol

  • BrookeF

i'll take snarky to my face over cussing me behind my back any day!

*packs up MIL baggage and keeps it to herself*

sorry you're having troubles. :( i'm starting to think the way my sister did it is right on. her inlaws are a 8 hour plane ride away!

  • BrookeF

i <3 snacking. its so hard to stop isn't it?

  • BrookeF

jay and i both have colds and felt like crap last night. i emailed him “can you put a dr. pepper in the fridge for me? if you don't i'll take it as a sign you think i'm fat.”

“if you don't its because you think i'm fat” is the easiest way to get him to do anything.

    me<–evil and manipulative }:-)

we ate out of our popcorn tin for dinner. and laid on the couch all night watching tv.

and i had mexican for lunch (friend's birthday lunch).

it was supposed to be my first day back down at 1600 calories.

  • kay6672

It took my MIL about 20 hours to get here, counting flight time and layovers. The upside is it only happens once a year. The downside is that it's for a month at a time!!

Actually, she's good as MILs go. But a month is too long! Four days would be perfect!

  • tlb81003

    My MIL was here.
    I ate like crap.
    She stresses me out.
She is not supportive of a healthy lifestyle
    I ate SOOO bad.
I gained like 6 pounds the first 3 days she was here.
    I haven't exercised in a week.
    I'm completely bummed about that
Last Tuesday I had a really, really nice tumble that was followed by some not so pleasant words.
    My kids heard those words
I generally don't use those words so it was new to them
I did something not good to the Interior and Superior Extensor Reticulum and every time I try to get a little more active I pay for it.
I should get it checked out but figure it would be pointless.
My husband and I are on board together (Praise the Lord!!) to make changes in the our lives and the lives of children.
Watching his mom for a week has really given me the visual I needed of where I'm headed and where I absolutely don't want to be.

Pop her in the face. I have limited tolerance for snarky in-laws. ;p

  • Nancy

It was bad, bad, bad!!!! I'll try to post later. I have to take a sweet friend to chemo soon.

  • http://www.whooosthatgirl.com Lissa_ShrinkingJeans

I'll be walking to Europe AND BACK with you! Ugh.

  • http://www.whooosthatgirl.com Lissa_ShrinkingJeans

Good start on the water! ;)

  • http://www.whooosthatgirl.com Lissa_ShrinkingJeans

Okay, that's hilarious. You guys are funny.

  • http://www.thekrumwiedesix.blogspot.com Kristin @ OneCrazyMamaof4

I'm with Brooke on this one… I would much prefer snarky to my face than what I go through… although I do sometimes put it on our family blog… *she doesn't read it* :)

  • http://www.whooosthatgirl.com Lissa_ShrinkingJeans

Nothing like evil MILs to get you motivated again! :) Sounds like you know what you need to do, so get over your bad week and let's move forward! xoxo

  • elainea

Oh girl, at least you have a list. I can't even keep track and I've gained 3 lbs. Gotta change my ways but mostly get exercising. I'm excited for the new challenge! MUST. LOSE. SOME. WEIGHT!

  • kay6672

Wow, you could be my twin! But I get to be the evil one… he he he! My MIL doesn't leave until the 7th, but I am DETERMINED to pull myself together and get back on track tomorrow. I'll get out and power walk tomorrow if I have to use a cane to do it! Anything for a bit of a workout and some time alone!

  • tlb81003

I bow to you! She's staying until the 7th!!! Yes, I bow. Blessed be your name.

  • tlb81003

Onward and up…well really it should be onward and downward right?

  • http://www.thekrumwiedesix.blogspot.com Kristin @ OneCrazyMamaof4
  • BrookeF

that's my sister's problem. although lucky for her my BIL's brother is over here too so they split time and my sister ends up with them for “only” two weeks.

they are from ireland, so it think its 8 hours in the air, but yeah after lay overs it ends up being a whole day.

my in-laws, on the other hand, are 6 hours by car. well 6 hours for jay and i driving. they're older, so it takes them more like 8 to get to us.

  • BrookeF

sounds like everyone is having in law problems. i'm sorry that she's not supportive – but nothing better to get you motivated than seeing the future of what would happen to you if you chose the same course that she did!

mine waits on her husband and her son (my hubby) hand and foot. and thinks i'm an evil wife for not doing the same. whenever she's around the hubby regress and loses almost all of the “i'm a big boy now” progress i've made with him.

  • BrookeF

that's very nice of you to do that for a friend. must be difficult. :(

  • BrookeF

i've got a feeling we all need this challenge!

  • http://www.prairiemama.net PrairieMama

Ok Donya, here I am. Ready to kick the trash out of my ass. Let's see…I have eaten waaaaay too much crap this month. This morning I have already had 2 chocolate covered coconut marshmallows (homemade, yes). I had 2 brownies and a mug of egg nog last night and some very delicious holiday cookies. I have eaten hardly any salad at all and I think my body is rebelling at the lack of greens it has been getting. Exercise??? HA! I did it yesterday and am trying to get motivated to go right now…but instead I sit here typing this and letting Libby crawl all over me.
Yeah…I am REALLY glad for a New Year. I need it. I need a fresh start. I need to be healthier.

  • jenniferbrown

I'm glad to know it's not just me that feel off the bandwagon…but mine fall from grace started at Thanksgiving. I've been keeping up with my exercise which is the ONLY reason I have not gained 10 lbs. I have eaten cakes, cookies, brownies, every cheesy and buttery casserole you can imagine, loaves of different types of bread, more sugar, more cheese, blah, blah…not to mention all the champagne and other cocktails. Whew…

As much as I love the holidays (and I really do :) I am so very glad they're over!

  • http://thesassymama.blogspot.com Heather

I love that you ate cookies whilst confessing! Good work :) Totally something I would do!

  • http://thesassymama.blogspot.com Heather

Holidays are just not condusive to being good. But taking your friend to chemo? That isn't just good, it's WONDERFUL.

  • http://thesassymama.blogspot.com Heather

Heading to the kitchen with a garbage bag NOW.

  • http://nothingbutchatter.blogspot.com/ kiminia

its my biggest downfall! I need to get back to cooking breakfast & actually planning to eat lunch instead of realizing when the kids r nappin that I forgot to eat. THanks for making me feel not alone in the snacking dept!!

  • http://nothingbutchatter.blogspot.com/ kiminia

THANKS!! summertime, I rock the water! 64 is a small number then.. but winter I'd rather have coffee or hot tea to keep me warm, so going to keep working the water in between the hot drinks :)

  • http://www.littleladybugthatcould.blogspot.com ladybugs714

I too haven't had enough water…and have had too much sugar too.

Wrote about it…very painful to see it in writing.

i feel yucky and bloated from all my sins. including the ghirardelli soda fountain place we just went to and had all this chocolateness. at this point, i want to eat salad for the rest of my life. see ya'll tomorrow, it's the dawn of a new day.

  • http://www.alberts-family.blogspot.com/ danielle

I think I join the walk to Europe!!!! COOKIES, CHEESE CAKE, CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZELS… and that's just to name a few. I have probably gained 10 pounds with all this Holiday buisness going on… but I gotta say… I love it! I have a 20 month old and he just had the best time eating those cookies and cakes with me! Now on to 2010. I need to start holding myself accountable again… if I want to shed those pounds! Can wait for a new challenge!

  • tiffanyzook

I may be on the walk to Europe as well… I did pretty well maintaining and having a small net loss up until the end of the last challenge. Oh boy did I make up for lost time… Lots of sweets, lots of eating out, lots of caffeine and a lot of alcohol on Christmas. Oh, and NO exercise in the past two weeks! With all of the stress going on for me at work, I am having a hard time getting motivated to get back on track and start fresh… However, I will be starting the challenge and putting one foot in front of the other come next week.

  • JennyGirl

Although I worked out every day, I did not eat as well as I should have.
