The Saturday Review: Vitalicious (The Muffin Tops That Don’t Cause Muffin Tops) UPDATED

If you’ve been on the Weight Watchers forums, or read Hungry Girl, you’ve more than likely run across a lot of talk about VitaTops. Personally, I’d heard a lot but had never tried Vita Tops or any of the Vitalicious. And I was curious. I’d read they were high in fiber, and I am a fiber fiend.

Seriously. It’s bordering on obsession. I have a stipulation, though. It has to taste good. No cardboard/sawdust passes these lips!

After reading high praise for VitaTops over the years, it’s probably an understatement to say I was thrilled when a huge, gorgeous sampler showed up on my doorstep the other day.

My trusty co-sampler (my two year old son, George) and I started in immediately at the task at hand. Trying a multitude of products. The sampler included several flavors of Vitatops, including Chocolate Mint, Golden Corn (just like corn bread), and CranBran – and my personal favorite, Double Chocolate Dream (need I say more, really?), as well as some VitaBrownies. Yes, BROWNIES.

It was a lot of sampling. George was very enthusiastic and kept saying ‘More, Mommy! Yummy!’ No lie.

Clearly, we enjoyed our Vitalicious products!

But here’s the best part. THEY ARE INCREDIBLY NUTRITIOUS. According to Vitalicious, “Better than an apple.”

Here are the facts:

100 calories per 2 ounce serving
4 grams of protien
Low-fat
4-7 grams of fiber
No trans-fat
No Cholesterol
15 Vitamins and minerals

And…wait for it…there is a giveaway!

i love all the ones I have tried, but my favorite by far is the double chocolate dream ones. I can get them at a health food store that I shop at for my youngest son! I also LOVE the brownies!! they are divine!!

I just tried (well I had one out of the box) the Deep Chocolate Vitatops. So good. BUT I want to try the Deep & Velvetty Chocolate Brownies and quite a few of the muffins. (Apple-Berry, Banana Nut, Blue Bran)
