My own motivation has been a little lax lately.  There’s no real reason…it just happens every once in a while.  You’re coasting along and every thing is hunky dory.  Suddenly, you realize that you are sitting like a bump on a log, you haven’t exercised in a week and yes you did eat a whole bag of tortilla chips in one sitting!

So what do you do? What do you do when you are supposed to be motivating people and you realize that you can’t even motivate yourself?

Personally, I find a great quote that gets me over the hump.  Just something to give me that little extra push to make that first step.  Here are some of my favorites:

Eighty percent of success is showing up.  ~Woody Allen

Success and failure.  We think of them as opposites, but they’re really not.  They’re companions – the hero and the sidekick.  ~Laurence Shames

Attitudes are contagious.  Are yours worth catching?  ~Dennis and Wendy Mannering

Don’t say you don’t have enough time.  You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.  ~Life’s Little Instruction Book, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

If you have time to whine and complain about something then you have the time to do something about it.  ~Anthony J. D’Angelo, The College Blue Book

Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.  ~Will Rogers

Do you have a quote you live by?  Something you say to yourself to get that little extra “oomph” you need?  Share it in the comments!
