The Saturday Review :: Guiltless Gourmet Tortilla Chips

Everyone who loves chips and salsa, raise your hand!  Mmmmhmmm.  That’s what I thought.  Okay, now how many of you fine folks avoid chips and salsa because of the calories in those yummy tortilla chips?

Well have no fear, I am here to rescue you.  I found out about this little taste of heaven by listening to Jillian Michaels’ radio show way back in the day of 180 pounds or so.  Then one day at the grocery store, there they sat.  It was love at first sight and it’s been a fantastic relationship since.

Guiltless Gourment tortilla chips are all organic, baked tortilla chips.  As you can see here, they have several different flavors to choose from.  My favorite is the chili lime, but unfortunately, my grocery store never has it so I go with the spicy black bean.

So, what makes these chips so special, you ask?  Well, here’s the skinny.  First, they’re baked, not fried.  That’s an  automatic score.  Also, they’re organic, which is something I like.  It’s just a personal choice.  And here’s the best part.  Are you ready for it?  They only have 120 calories per serving.  And one serving? 18 chips.  Seriously, how can you feel guilty about eating them?  You can’t really.  And to me, they’re just as good as regular tortilla chips.

(Now, if I can only get my grocery store to sell the chili lime ones.  Or if any of you Guiltless Gourmet folks are listening, feel free to send me a truck load.)

So, now you can enjoy your chips and salsa in a healthy way.  You’re welcome.

Thanks so much for the great tip!

For a yummy snack you can quickly make some pico de gallo to go along with the chips. All you will need for the pico is the following ingredients and you should be set: tomatoes diced, onion diced, cilantro chopped, jalapeño seeded and minced, lime juice and salt/pepper. The longer you let the ingredients set the better the pico so try to make it at least a couple of hours ahead of snacking time if needed!

    Hope you can enjoy!

Не вижу ничего в этом плохого, если честно. По крайней мере то что на Вашем сайте ведутся обсуждения среди пользователей, сайт точно не испортит. А не то так сразу и форумы прикрыть можно.
