Be a MILER…

[ 7 ] 05/06/2010 |

Today marks the start of RUN A MILE DAYs, hosted by the American Running Association! That’s right! Between today and Saturday, May 8th, we are encouraging EVERYONE, young or old, male or female, marathon runner or couch potato, to get up and get those legs moving for ONE MILE! No excuses, each and every one of you can do this!

Get your family and friends involved, your children, your children’s classmates and friends… we will all have the same goal of slogging running a mile. Speed does not count for this, your end distance of one mile is all that matters. If you don’t want to run a mile, no problem, get up and walk a mile! We’re not leaving you behind! LURKERS, we know you’re there! This is the perfect time for you to come out and say hello and get involved! We don’t bite, I promise! Well, maybe some of us do.

If you want to go above and beyond one mile overachievers, even better, but for our Sisterhood tallying purposes, we are only counting that FIRST MILE! Let’s see how many RUN A MILE DAYs miles we can rack up! Can we break a hundred? Five hundred? ONE THOUSAND MILES????

Lace those sneakers up, hop on a treadmill, head to a track, or strap on that GPS watch and head outside to get your sweat on! Then we need you to check in -either on the Facebook event, the ‘hood, or on Saturday’s post- and let us know you completed your mile! If your children are MILERs, or if you organized a group of people, make sure you include them, too! We will post our final tally on the main site on Sunday, May 9th.

Go! Run! Be a MILER!

Ohhh. This is my current goal – run (well, jog, but it works about the same). Very close – just need to jog about 2 minutes more and I have it. So I will do it by Saturday. Whew.
