The Saturday Review::Choosing the Right Shoes

**Giveaway is CLOSED! Winner has been chosen! Congrats, Tirah!**
Did you hear? May is Sisterhood Running Month! Go read all about it here.
One of the first things you need to do before you hit the ground running, is find a good pair of running shoes. Yes, running shoes are an investment – you should plan on spending upwards of $100 on a quality pair, so think twice before you hit the clearance rack at a discount store. TRUST. The only thing between your feet and the ground for hundreds of miles will be those shoes, and if you skimp on quality, you’re setting the stage for pain, injuries, and lots of disappointment. With the pain, injuries, and disappointment comes the big Q word. QUITTER. You don’t want to be a quitter, right? Follow these simple tips, and you’ll be off and running with happy feet.
The best way to ensure a proper running shoe fit is to visit your local running store, where they’ll be able to analyze your gait and tell you which shoes you need. Easy-peasy, right? Well, if don’t have access to a running store (like me), you might end up going through a lot of expensive trial and error, so I’m going to share a few tips and tricks on how to choose the right pair of shoes for your feet.
Click this link right now, and read ALL of it. Trust me. When I was having issues with my feet, I realized that I had the wrong shoes, and after lots of research, I came across Running Advisor and finally found the right shoes for my feet.
So which shoes are the right shoes for me? The New Balance 760s.
They are very light weight, super-cushioned in the heel, and offer moderate stability control. A good overall shoe for a neutral runner like myself. I’ve worn them out for several shorter runs, and last weekend for my 10-miler, and I was jumping for joy after that run because my feet felt so good. That’s me, third from left! Check that air I’m catching!
