**Updated** Thriv + Giveaway!

[ 61 ] 05/08/2010 |

**UPDATE** Winner has been randomly chosen from the comments below! Congrats, Lisa!

You may recall a few months ago when a few of us Shrinking Jeans writers traveled to Baltimore for the FitBloggin’ conference. Not only did we get to meet each other (finally!), but we were in the presence of some awesome companies as well!

The FitBloggin’10 tees were sponsored by thriv. It was love at first feel. The shirts are so, so soft. thriv uses flex-fiv: their patented technology that transforms bamboo and cotton to deliver 5 benefits: wicking, comfort, SPF, anti-odor, and breathability. Flex-fiv performance fabric drapes like silk and feels like cashmere, making you feel as though you’re wearing nothing at all.

I have since added the Palos Verde Hoodie to my collection, and after listening to Christy proclaim her love for the Ormond Beach pants, ordered those, too! I do wish the Ormond pants came in longer sizes for us tall girls, but they have drawstring on the bottoms, so I just rock them as capris!

Thriv has become a sponsor of Team Shrinking Jeans, and we are eagerly awaiting our purple team shirts to wear during before and after our 1/2 marathon in San Diego that’s coming up in less than a month!

You can find thriv clothing at selected Sports Authority locations throughout the country, or order from their new online store! They are currently working on adding new styles and sizes!

Now for the best part! One of our readers will win the basic performance tee by thriv (Ladies XS-XL, Men’s M-XXL)! To enter, answer this question:  When looking for workout clothing, what factor is most important to you?

After answering the question above, for extra entries (leave a separate comment for each):

  • Follow thriv (@thrivnp) and the Sisterhood (@shrinkingjeans) on Twitter and tweet about this giveaway using both twitter handles! (this is ONE entry!) Example: Win a @thrivnp men’s or women’s performance tee from @shrinkingjeans ! Don’t miss out! http://bit.ly/c9DZLH #giveaway #shrinkingjeans
  • Become a thriv fan on Facebook.
  • Go to the thriv website, come back and tell us what other thriv item you wish you had in your clothing stash.

Never fear, if you don’t win this giveaway, you can sign up for thriv’s monthly newsletter, thriv1st. They give away 50 shirts a month to the people on this list!

This contest will run through Friday, May 14th at 11:59pm Pacific time. One winner will be randomly selected via random.org and announced the following day. Best of luck!

Full disclosure:  The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans did not receive monetary compensation for this post and the opinions expressed are our own. Thriv is the official shirt of Team Shrinking Jeans and providing us with shirts to be printed with our team logo. The end.

Because I have a longer torso I look for shirts that are a little longer. Also as a “big girl” runner (yes we do exist) I look for clothes that flatter my shape while working out and not make me look worse.

Fixed it, thanks for the heads up, skank. ;p

  • moziesme

Comfort is key – and how well it camouflages my “issues”! :)

  • Tim

I need something that is soft but lightweight so it doesn't feel heavy when I sweat.

  • reneeakacutiebootycakes

The most important factor for me is the fit of the clothing. It has to be comfortable and breath too.

  • reneeakacutiebootycakes

I'm a thriv fan on FB.

  • reneeakacutiebootycakes

I like the annecy mid-length short.

  • Nancy

Comfort of course, but I also love the shirts that wick the moisture away from your body.

  • Nancy

    Following both and tweeted.

My #1 factor??? Will it chaff and make me bleed.

#2: Will this make me hot (not sexy hot, just plain hot).

#3: Will this make other people uncomfortable to be around me (AKA: are there unflattering parts of my body exposed)

  • Carla Pullum

I have to have comfortable work out cloths but it has to let my body not get so hot in.
I look for tank tops and light pants.

Its hard to find shirts that git my chest well, normally they end up creeping up on the side which is so annoying!

  • http://www.littleladybugthatcould.blogspot.com ladybugs714

those beach pants do look awesome!

  • marzipan

I usually look most for color (superficial I know ;) and fit. I hate working out with a shirt that doesn't quite fit right, and then you have to tug at it… Completely makes me lose focus!

I'd also love the Lillehammer leggings!

  • susanj007

I need fabric that is light weight, yet supportive. I get very overheated. I also dislike the techno wicking fabrics that hold on to smells!

  • Erin P

Comfort most importantly, also look at price and cuteness!

  • Lacey

    I “liked” thriv on Facebook.

  • Lacey

I love hoodies! So, an obvious choice of clothing from thriv would be the Palos Verdes Hoodie in black :) But, the Boca Cropped Pant looked very nice as well.

  • juliemaereck

When looking for workout clothing, I look for breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics because I sweat profusely. I am also very overweight, so I look for clothes that are flattering (or as flattering as can be) on my figure.

  • juliemaereck

I follow thriv (@thrivnp) and the Sisterhood (@shrinkingjeans) on Twitter and have tweeted about this giveaway using both twitter handles!

Most important factor? Comfort. 2nd most important (even though no one asked ;) ) is style. I want comfortable and looks good. Not too much to ask, is it? :o)

I need clothes that don't ride up and that are long enough to cover the tummy area. Wicking is a bonus too – but if it curls up, it's no good.

  • lastminutemandy

  • lastminutemandy

Already am a fan on facebook. :)

  • lastminutemandy

I'd love the racerback or the cropped pant too!

  • http://ataleoftwoancestors.blogspot.com Amanda

That the clothing is comfortable and I feel good in it. If I constantly have to pull my shirt down or capri's up, it makes me go slower and not focus on my running like I should.
