Sisterhood Spotlight – The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

0

Every week, a Sister is “spotlighted” by another Sister – it’s a great way for us to get to know even more about one another.  This week, Renee (last week’s Spotlight) has chosen a well-deserving Sister to highlight……

I want to start by thanking Tiffany for nominating me for the Sister Spotlight. I truly admire Tiffany and was completely surprised as I read her post and realized that she was talking about me!

I can’t tell you how much I love the Sisterhood, my blog reading lately has been pretty minimal but I check in on the antics in the Sisterhood almost daily. I’ve been with the Sisterhood since November last year, I jumped in after hanging out with Christy in California and never looked back. Of all the fitness communities I am a part of the Sisterhood sticks out, we are a wonderful group of supportive women in a laid back environment all on a journey to healthy living. If I could, I’d nominate each and every one of you for the Sisterhood Spotlight but since that isn’t possible, I’m nominated someone who is a constant inspiration.

I first “met” this sister after the 30 day shred challenge, I didn’t officially participate but I did stop by the participant blogs to check out the before and after pictures. I was drawn in immediately by this mommy sporting numerous tattoos and the how she was inspired by her pre- Shred photos (me too)! I had to get to know her better. I soon learned that she is an accomplished runner, mother of two and lives with her knight in shining armor. If you don’t know who I’m talking about yet, I’m speaking of Beki – Wild Child Gone Good.

Beki started running in 2007 and that year she entered her first 3k, since that time she has run 5ks, a 10Ks sand this year did a triathalon! She is now training for the Relay for Life and fundraising for this event – she wants to do a treadmill run and has pledged to dye her hair purple  if she raises $1000.  She does all of this in the midst of raising her son AND she is currently in her last year of law school! I am impressed by all of her accomplishments, both physically and mentally. If you don’t know Beki, get over to her blog and meet this inspiring woman!

P.S. – Beki helped me with my own fundraising this week by doing a mail merge for me but this did NOT influence my choice for Sisterhood Spotlight. I had already chosen Beki when she offered to help me, one more reason to highlight this special lady! 🙂

Renee, thank you so much for your awesome Sister Spotlight.  I love watching our sisters choose each other to spotlight- there are so many wonderful ladies around here to choose from.

Congratulations Beki!!! Now it’s on you, girl! As the recipient of the Sister Spotlight this week, it’s up to you to chose the next lucky Sister. Please email your submission to [email protected] by Friday, July 23rd!
