I was kind of resistant to getting my iPhone. I was already having trouble controlling my online time on my computer and I was afraid that having the iPhone would just become a huge Blackhole of Time.

I promised myself that I would only get apps that truly helped me be more productive. I didn’t want to fill it with games and cute little things.

I have found that it’s really useful for helping me with fitness training. There are several apps out there that will help you meet your fitness goals. Here are two apps that I have on my phone.

  1. HundredPushups – this one is great for the Hundred Pushups Challenge. I never have to remember what day I’m on or how many pushups I need to do that day. It remembers all of the information for me. It also has a countdown clock for the rest periods and includes graphs and logs. It’s pretty awesome.
  2. iFitness – This one has been a huge help in the weight room. It has a HUGE list of exercises in its database. You are able to use one of their preset routines, or you can create your own custom routine. You set it up with the specific exercises you want to do and then it keeps track of all of your reps. You can add notes about reps, weight, etc., and it has a countdown clock for resting between reps. No more carrying around a piece of paper or clipboard at the gym!
