Power of One: January Project #2

[ 20 ] 01/10/2011 |

Wow, there were so many great letters for Project #1, I am so glad so many of you participated!! We can’t wait to go through them again next YEAR with you and watch as you proved yourself right through all of them! If you haven’t done it yet, go read the first project, do it and link up here.

If you get a chance, visit everyone on the list! Read their letters! The best thing we can do here is encourage each other during the projects and weigh-ins and it’s so much fun to meet new people and watch them reach their goals!

It’s time for Project #2 and this week’s project is a little simpler. Well, maybe.

We’ve asked you during the beginning of the challenge to sort of outline your goals for the challenge, but here, we want you to really sit down and outline your goals in life, for the short-term and long-term and make a sort of blue print for how you want this year to go and beyond.

You can start with the big goals and then break them down into smaller goals for how you will reach the big ones. Make mini milestones, to-do lists, etc.

Get creative, too, don’t just write them here on your blog. Make a calendar. Get a planner. And write it all in there. Put it into stone.  Also, plan out your rewards for reaching these goals. It could be a distance you want to run, a weight-loss number you want to see, cutting down on certain foods and REWARD YOURSELF!

Blog about it and link up again on Friday in the link-up post.

We wouldn’t try to build the Empire State Building without having a blueprint and plans all spread out before us and sharing them with all the people who are going to be insrumental in building it, right? So map out your life. Allow your family and friends to be a part of your goals because they will be a part of helping you to get there. And they will see you as being “serious,” especially if you’re someone like me, who likes to do things on a whim periodically (or so I am told.)

So write it all out, plan it, put it on paper, in stone, all of the goals big and small, write about it and link it up on Friday! Mkay? If you don’t have a blog, write us a big long comment and tell us all about it below!

Have fun!

ack. I don’t know it I can do this one. It’s is WAY outside my comfort zone. I’m not a planner. In fact, really supertitious about even putting things on the calendar. . . . hmmm. . . I’m gonna have to think about it.

If I have learned anything in my almost two years with the Sisterhood, it’s that pushing outside of your comfort zone is how you make the big things happen. It took me a long time to figure that out. Give it a try and see what happens. You may surprise yourself and learn some new things.

I think that’s the benefit of doing short-term goals along with the long-term goals. because if you start reaching the smaller ones, it is like built-in motivation to continue. whereas if you just have the giant goal written in and no plan on how to get there, you set yourself up to never get there. right? think of it as one giant mapquest and a trip that you’re headed out on. you want to make sure there are gas stations along the way and hotels and whatnot. that’s all it is. you’re just trying to get somewhere. but the thing is, unpredictable things DO absolutely pop up during a roadtrip and having a plan helps you get back on track easier. i am actually the BIGGEST UNORGANIZED NON-PLANNER in the world, but when i failed at reaching my weight-loss goals for so long i finally found that having at least a basic framework of what on earth i wanted to do with myself helped me actually head in the right direction. Do try it!!

Not sure if I’m going to do this one. Why? Because I HATE going back through my blog and seeing the times that I’ve done this and then literally have done nothing about it. And not for lack of trying. I’m just not programmed that way I guess.

anytime a monthly project makes me feel uncomfortable that usually means that I REALLY need to do it! Just because this one doesn’t scare me… does that mean that I don’t have to do it?? Just kidding… blueprints now in progress : )

Love it! It is slightly outside of my comfort zone only because I am way hard on myself if I think I am failing. But, it will be nice to write down my goals and have it “in my face” to see

I like it…started working on it today. A little harder then I thought, but once it’s written down, this will be great!

Gotta see if I can find some time to do this one. Seems like it will take a little more time than the letter.

My first attempt to make a blueprint to reach my goals http://www.fatosity.com/blog/?p=814. Now to just implement it all.

Couldn’t find a link up post – so here are my goals. It was a struggle making the list – especially with dates and rewards – but now, I’m so glad that I did it:
