I like the wii and the treadmill. I’ll post when I get home from work. Right now, I’m in shock because I gained over a pound and I thought I had an excellent week. Go figure!

My favorite way to exercise when the weather’s bad is with my EA Sports Active 2 on the Wii. It holds me accountable!

I like Just Dance 2 on the Wii for exercise and fun with my kids at the same time.

  • Anonymous

I usually hit the treadmill at the gym when the weather is nasty or hit up ExerciseTV and try something new if I’m at home.

  • Maria S

I have my bike inside on a trainer, and it’s fun to ride inside while watching DVDs of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. 45 minutes an episode!

    • Anonymous

I wish we had a bike trainer!

I keep forgetting to put my stats in…

My favorite way to exercise is the 30 Day Shred then some Wii Fit :)

  • Tracey

Well today the workout was shoveling snow. I’m getting too good at it! Other than that I’ve been pretty inactive… *sigh* I will get the hang of this! I have been doing EA Sports Active 2 off and on so that’s something. Not enough, but something…

  • Tabatha

I’ve started taking more Zumba classes, total blast!

  • Tanya

In bad weather, I will either go to the gym for the treadmill or a weights workout, or I will dust off one of my plethora of workout DVDs and do that at home. I will sometimes do these things even in nice weather, just for variety.

  • http://www.monicawantsit.com @MonicaBenavidez

I always exercise indoors at home. My fave exercises are Turbo Jam and Just Dance 2 for the Wii. :-)

  • Cysiphist

Poo. The scale giveth, and the scale taketh away. So much for the good news last week. I think I’m back where I started. :/

Our stationary bike isn’t a bad way to exercise when I’m indoors – otherwise, there are a few good yoga podcasts that you can use.

  • http://shepdogg.blogspot.com/ Tirah

If it is yucky outside I will use one of my many workout videos/Wii games or get on my Elliptical.

  • Virginia

I have done inside workouts but I have loved running and walking in the snow and cold this year. It was refreshing and so quiet and peaceful. It has been nice since my hubby has been watching the kids.

  • Anonymous

I like the wii and surprisingly the treadmill. I have not been finding or making time lately. I was shocked to see I was down 1.5 pounds this week.

  • Anonymous

I am fortunate to have both a treadmill and an elliptical in my house – so I have no excuses for bad weather! I am not a huge fan of treadmill running, but it gets the job done when I can’t run outside! I also have Wii, Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. Bad weather can’t stop me!

Where I live we don’t really get cold, nasty winters. However, it does rain a lot and the tenperature can dip, although rarely below zero (celcius). So it can be tough to head outside on what will probably be yet another rainy day to get soaking wet and cold. On some of these days, I seek out routes with big puddles and make my runs a puddle-jumping game. When I was a teen, my dad and I used to do this every Boxing Day. We’d head out to our favourite running trail and get completely soaked and muddy. So much fun!

I’m feeling a little bummed by my weight this week – up two pounds. But I’m trying to remind myself that this is a long term lifestyle change and it won’t always be easy. Also, I did drink a few glasses of wine over the weekend and ate a couple of pieces of pizza (calorie bombs). I know where I went wrong. I just need to find a way to be okay with that.

I don’t have to many really yucky days that keep me inside but it’s usually a dvd or exercise tv when that happens. I just got one of Leslie Sansone’s walking dvds so I’m looking forward to trying that one on the next yucky day!

  • Anonymous

We’re pretty lucky here, as the weather isn’t too bad in the winter. But if a storm is blowing through I either skip my workout and make it my rest day, do an exercise video indoors, or head to the gym/pool. Often it’s rainy outside and I try to keep an open mind and think about my runs as an adventure. Sometimes it’s even fun to go on a puddle-jumping run!

Sorry for the double post! I thought the first one disappeared on me….I need more coffee… :)

  • Anonymous

My favorite way to workout when it is cold outside is the WiiFit – Step Aerobic with hand weights seems to be my thing right now, but I LOVE MY WII FIT!! When I get bored with this I move to the Ea Sports Active games, Love them too!!

  • http://twitter.com/girlsworld Kirsten

It depends on what kind of nasty. Snowy? As long as it’s not slippery, I’m out there anyway. Otherwise it’s my treadmill, Wii.

  • Lucky Bamboo

I am really liking my rebounder, especially with the couch-to5K podcasts.

  • tracy c.

if i do any exercise, it is usually inside with the treadmill or wii fit plus… i haven’t tried the Ea Sports 2 yet even though i did get it along with the wii fit plus for Christmas…

  • Terri

Hi all. I’m a new member to this challenge. I love step aerobics and have several DVDs/Tapes. My garage is my gym on rainy days (on almost every day, actually).

    • http://www.melgetsfit.com Mel (@MelGetsFit)

Yay! So glad you decided to join the challenge. :) xoxo

I love to turn on my favorite music or put in my favorite music DVD and dance, dance, dance!

  • Anonymous

Of course our treadmill and bike get a workout during the winter months, but one of my NEW favorite things is the Nike Training Club app for iPhone/iTouch, etc. Sync with your music, set your skill level, and work through an intense workout with minimal equipment. You’ll be sore for days!

So I’m down 0.2…grrr. I’ve decided that I do best when I have a team and a challenge..when I’m competing on how many minutes I’ve exercised or how many veggies I’ve eaten. Without that community and challenge, I let things slide. But at least I’m down, even if it isn’t a lot.

My favorite nasty-weather workouts are videos, especially pilates. I use the ones on Netflix

I use the WiiFit and my Aerobics DVD, plus we just started using the Biggest Loser Wii Game. I really miss being able to take walks though. Can’t wait for warmer weather. It’s only inside for me this time of year.
Will be posting and linking up shortly. I don’t think I ever linked up last week. I had a bad week last week, had only lost .9 (okay, I know that isn’t that bad, but I had added workouts so I figured I would have lost more) and actually gained in the measurement dept. So I waited to post for a few days and never linked up. I will try to be better at that in the future, no matter what kind of week I have. Can’t wait to visit other blogs.

My fav workouts for a rainy/ snowy day are an exercise DVD (currently loving Turbo Fire) or a treadmill workout if I am in the mood for walking or running.

The rain has been horrible :( I’ve found “Turbo Jam” and love it!! It’s a whole body workout that I feel the next morning…a lot! :):)

  • Mary P.

For indoor workouts when the weather gets bad , I head to the library and leave with about 12 exercise DVDs I can check out for free. They have a great variety and I mix them up as the days go by, upper body, yoga, kickboxing, Jilian or Bob or Biggest Loser workouts.. it’s cheap (can’t beat free!) and challenging and the variety keeps me from getting bored!

I do most of my workouts at the gym anyways, so that is my bad weather workout. Now we’re getting snow here and I probably won’t get to the gym so I may do a workout through the On Demand with our cable.

  • Anonymous

If the weather is bad I hit the gym. So yeah, I am at the gym for at least 6 months of the year because I refuse to run outside if there is even a remote possibility of ice.

  • Becca W

If it’s nasty outdoors I hit up the gym or P90x at home. Also at work we have a walking club where we walk the perimeter of the building indoors!

  • Asoulm8

I am a fan of the treadmill, and my wii, but I am NOT a fan of the cold. Which is exactly what it is here. Cold and snowy! I’m not going out there cept to get from place to place!

  • http://diaryoffatwoman.blogspot.com/ Joanna

Being that I haven’t really made the most of the bad weather opportunities of working out inside…I’d have to say that NOW I’m going to use my Zumba for the PS3 if the snow should fall again….sometime soon would be nice. :)

Not a super week for me, because of the snow..blah!! Up 0.4lbs. Better make the most of the nice weather this week…nice being above freezing..HA!

  • Mrsbrown327

I love the exercise on demand channel, especially Jillian Michaels!!

  • http://www.totallytemberton.net Cara R.

I like using the Wii Fit Plus when the weather is bad. Snow here today AGAIN. :o/

  • http://www.losingtheshadow.blogspot.com Jen

Finally posted my check. I lost 4 lbs!

It is blizzarding here in Boston tonight. I love the on demand workouts on my cable that I can choose from.

  • http://www.melgetsfit.com Mel (@MelGetsFit)

I have a wide variety of DVDs and fitness titles for my Wii. Those are my definitely my go to forms of exercise when it’s raining.

  • http://twitter.com/melydia melydia

I always work out at the gym, so weather really isn’t much of an issue. But I’ll say, it’s fun to run on the indoor track when it’s below freezing outside, knowing that my asthma wouldn’t be letting me breathe so well out on the street!

  • Ginny P

I love to do Zumba when the weather is awful out! It’s so cold outside but working and shaking your thing to latin music with a bunch of great people really encourages me to keep going!

  • Anonymous

My favorite way to work out? Pain and injury free! That totally counts, right? :)
