Burst Into Summer Challenge Check-in, June 28th | The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

Hello Shrinking Sisters and Brothers. How is it going? Have you melted from the sweltering heat yet? I don’t know about your neck of the woods, but it’s hotter than hell down here in Texas. H-O-T. The heat isn’t really doing much for me either, other than making me want to stay inside with my blinds closed tight. Thank goodness our Shrinking Bootcamp can be done in the comfort of my home, so at least I have NO excuse to not be moving even as the grass turns brown and burns up!

So let’s get on to it! How did you do this week? Have you had that date with your scale yet this morning? Did you like what you saw? Personally, I was ready to drop kick my scale out the front door – I was on vacation last week. Enough said. The sad part is I felt like I actually did well while traveling. I *thought* I made good food choices. I hit the gym at the resort and did bootcamp. I was fairly active frolicking in the waves. But whatever. I know I’m back on track and that’s all that matters.

So go on and blog about your check-in! Let us know how you did on the scales, with life, and even with bootcamp, or is the heat the only thing causing you to sweat right now?

Mini-Challenge

Mini-challenges are just an added extra bonus to our challenges! The first week we learned about why hydration is so important, and made sure we were getting in our 64+ ounces a day. I know I’ve been doing great! How about you? Are you keeping it up?

This past week we focused on starting our day off right with breakfast. How did you do with this challenge? Did you have breakfast everyday? Somedays? Any days? If so, what was your favorite breakfast?

This week our mini-challenge is to get in your fruits and vegetables each day. Did you know half of your plate should be made up of fruits and vegetables. At each meal! Yes, it’s true. Colleen talked about the new USDA guidelines last week as a matter of fact! Check out the USDA’s guidelines on Food Groups here, and be sure to visit the Sustainable Table for information on ‘what’s fresh near you’. Venture out to your local farmer’s market and fill your basket with fresh goodness – take the kids and make it a great learning experience. When you get home, chop up some of those fruits and veggies and stow them in the fridge so they’re ready to go when you’re ready to snack!

If you need some great ideas for those fresh fruits and vegetables, check-out some of these Sisterhood tested recipes!

Challenge Sponsor

Don’t forget, New Balance is sponsoring this challenge, and that means the winners will get a new pair of New Balance Bootcamp Training Shoes. How sweet is that?  To be eligible to win, your team will need to check-in EACH WEEK BY 9 p.m. CENTRAL TIME. No exceptions.

Check-in Form

It’s time to get down to it! Check-in below and let us know how you did! Leaderboard will be posted sometime tomorrow (it’s summer, and we’re swamped, so it might be a little later!).
