Burst into Summer! {new challenge announcement}

It’s heating up outside, and it’s time to get our bodies moving and looking their best! That’s right! We are BURSTING into summer here at Shrinking Jeans! Are you ready?

What: Burst into Summer Challenge

When: June 15th – August 11th. That’s 11 weeks of bursting, shrinking, or both!

Who: YOU! Tell your friends, your family, and whoever else you can think of! Tweet it, Like it, and Facebook the news! All are welcome, and you do not have to be female to participate. Sean needs company, too!

This challenge will consist of teams of 5. Teams will be randomly chosen an announced on Monday, June 13th. No requests for teammates, please. Making new friends is fun, so step out of your comfort zone and embrace your new team! Shrinking or no shrinking, bootcamp or no bootcamp, everyone can be on a team!

Bootcamp??? Yup. You heard me right. We are offering a 6-week bootcamp class, developed by Wende Leuba ICS, CPT {follow Wende on Twitter!}. The class will run MWF, starting on June 20th! Don’t worry, we will show you how to do the moves via vlog! {hint: Christy + spandex} The best part? It’s FREE!

    Here comes question girl, lol!!

    1. Tell me about the bootcamp. How hard are we talking? I run (barely) but don’t do any conditioning exercises. Can a beginner still do it?
    2. Is there a hard-and-fast time for the bootcamp on MWF? I will be at the beach one of those weeks, and will be traveling home on a Wed night. Plus, my husband is considering joining, and he’ll be traveling some on the bootcamp days, but can probably do it at different times of the day.
    3. I’m assuming a lot of people will be vacationing during these 11 weeks, and while I am fine to exercise on vacation, I also love to splurge on tasty vacation foods (as does my hubby), so I would hate to let my team down b/c I have an off week. What is “success” based on? My husband will just be signing up as a fitness freak (hate him) but I have more weight to lose. My only team challenge has been with Shrinkvivor, so I don’t know how the team thing usually works.

      Hi Angela :)

      1. Anyone can do it! It’s really going to be a self-timed, self-paced workout. You make it as hard as you need it to be. That being said, we definitely don’t want you slacking :)
      2. The workouts are on your own. Of course we’ll be tweeting about it when we do it, but it’s not going to be like a tworkout at a set time.
      3. If you are on a shrinking team, we will be calculating % of weight lost as always, so that is how you’ll measure success. On the non-shrinking teams, we’ll be keeping tracking of who’s participating and checking in every week – giving them mad props on the leaderboard post.

      Does that answer everything? You can do this on vacation, and if you can’t weigh-in one week, just let your team know and we’ll carry your previous weight over.

    Signed up. Need all the help I can get! I’d like to be able to go to the beach by the end of this,without my usual tshirt and leggings to cover the suit up. Two kids and a csection really messed my stomach up!

    this new challenge and the boot camp sounds like something i really need to do even if i donn’t know if i am completely ready for this…

    I am signed up and serious as a heart attack.  I need and want this very badly.  I had a really crappy May and school will be out in 2 days and I will have lots of time to devote to this challenge.  Give me a team and I promise I won’t let them down!!  Bring it on!!!

    I’m so looking forward to this challenge! I want to give the bootcamp a try but I didn’t want to commit since I’m not sure my body can handle it with its current condition (flare-central) but I’m definitely going to give it a whirl!
