Summer is upon us {finally} and you are probably looking to update your iPod with some fresh music. Many of us are knee-deep training for races, and others are just starting out. Whether you are taking your first shot at the Couch-to-5K program or a seasoned runner, these songs are sure to get your heart pumpin’.

1. Halo. The original is by Beyonce, but Mysto and Pizzi do one heck of a remix. Guaranteed to get those feet going.

2. I Know What I Am by Band of Skulls. Know what you are? Badass!

3. Black and Yellow by Wiz Khalifa. Bari and Christie were talking about this song the other week and I had no clue what it was. I finally heard it and immediately added it to my running playlist. It doesn’t hurt that black and yellow are the colors of charity: water and I happen to be running and fundraising for a clean water well.

4. Bust A Move by Young MC. You probably have this on your iPod already, right? Don’t blame me if you feel the need to show off your sweet moves mid-stride.

5. C’mon (Catch ‘Em By Surprise) by Tiësto vs. Diplo {feat. Busta Rhymes}. Don’t let the long, crazy name fool you. Want to run faster? Listen to this song.

6. Just Can’t Get Enough by The Black Eyed Peas. Your goal? One foot in front of the other. You got it. And then some.

7. You’re Gonna Go Far Kid by The Offspring. You will go far, too. Trust me.

8. I Just Wanna Run by The Downtown Fiction. Run, baby, RUN!

9. Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons. Hear me RAWR.

10. Savior by Rise Against. When you think you’ve hit your wall, this song will be your saving grace.

There you have it… 10 songs that keep me going when I pound the pavement. What’s rocking your playlist?
