Why are you here? A lot of times I see that the people who find us are in need of a little motivation and support in their weight loss/healthy living journeys. I love being a part of something that has become so big in a lot of people’s lives. There has been nothing better than to find this group of people who understand the struggles and are working just as hard to be the healthiest that they can be.

Support is an important factor in being successful in this journey. Surrounding yourself with people who “get it” really goes a long way. Interacting with these people can also really give you the motivation you need to keep going. I know some days, when I haven’t felt like doing my workout, I can just look on Twitter and see no less than ten people who have done their workouts. Sometimes, seeing those tweets are all the motivation I need to get my arse into gear.

What if you’re someone who is just starting out, though? You want to be healthy and get fit, but it just SEEMS SO DAMN HARD. You do your workout and it burns in your muscles. You feel like there is no way you’re going to live through your workout, much less finish it. Sometimes, the pain from being sore is almost too much… what then? How do you stay motivated then?

Well, I have the secret. Would you like to know what it is? Lean closer to the screen. Ready?

The secret is YOU. Don’t shake you heads at me like I’ve lost my mind. I’m right. YOU are the key when it comes to motivation.

Look, I know what it’s like to begin a workout and have your arms fall off midway through. There have been times that I have been so sore from a workout that I could barely move, much less walk. I know what it’s like to feel like you just can’t go on. There have been times when this journey has seemed so very long and hard that I just don’t want to do it.

Then I think, wait a second. I completed that workout. And yes, I’m sore, but I feel stronger because I am building the muscles I need to live a healthier life! I did this. I am being successful at this, and when I am successful, I am proving to every single person that said I couldn’t do it that I can. Plus, by getting MY workout in, someone else may be motivated by me to get their workout in, and that is a great feeling!

Needing a little kickstart or a little motivation from others can go a long way. Having that support will get you through the days that you think that you will absolutely not get through. Just never, ever, ever forget that this journey is your journey and really, it all begins with YOU.
