For the love of the game. Or something like that. | The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

I wrote the title above with a whole other post in mind, yet this is what came out. I know it isn’t our typical post here, but I think it fits and is something I really wanted to say. I hope you enjoy. Happy Friday! 🙂

I sat there looking at my nearly empty blog and wondered if I was crazy. Yes, I decided, I must be crazy. Who would want to read my dumb words.

I had spent a lot of the day talking to a girl I had met online named Christy. She and her friends had started a blog documenting their journeys to live healthier lives and they wanted their readers to join them. Christy had spent most of the day trying to talk me into joining them.

I was a year into my journey and learning so very much about myself. I was finally beginning to discover my true self. So, I sat there and thought about blogging again. I thought about joining this group of wonderful women. Seconds seemed like hours in my mind, and with a mind of its own, my finger moved that little white arrow to the “New Post” button…

For over two years now, I have been a writer here at The Sisterhood and the love that I feel in my heart for my fellow staff members cannot be described properly with words. I think someone at fitbloggin’ last year (and forgive me but I’ve forgotten who) said it best when she said that she couldn’t believe that the most of us had met for the first time. We acted like we had known each other for years.

She was right.  We’re like this tiny little family on the internet, and what a lot of you don’t see is the time and effort that it put into Shrinking Jeans. The behind the scenes stuff is where our heart is and we pour our souls into it. Our brainstorming threads can go on for days. We go off on tangents, we laugh, we support each other, we pick each other up, and we also plan the fun stuff that goes on here. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t talk to at least one of my fellow staff members. I love that.

This little gem in this little corner of the internet has added to my family of friends in a way that I never thought possible. We have laughed together, cried together, and because of every one of them, I am a better person today.

Christy, Lissa, Christie, Thea, Heather, Lisa, Mel, Nancy, Audrey, Trish, and Sean, I just wanted to take a little time today to thank you guys for all of the hard work you do in making this place the awesome little haven that it is. I love you guys.
