Loving Our Insides – The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

I was looking back through old posts and stumbled upon this one that I wrote over a year ago.  The gist of the post was this: When I look in the mirror, I like my _______.   I wrote about how most times when I look in the mirror, my eyes naturally gravitate to the things I don’t like about my body.  I went on to write of three things I like love about my body.  I asked all of you to participate with me and quite a number of you did.

I loved all the positivity, the supportive comments and the all-around love we had for ourselves and each other.

I loved that post.  Sometime soon, we’ll do it all over again- promise.

Today, we’re going to do something similar but a little different.

I want each of us to focus on the innards of our bodies, the things we love about our insides- our personalities, our mental fortitude, or the like.

‘Cuz you know what?  Lately, I’ve been struggling with this part and if I’ve been struggling, chances are some of you have been struggling.  I have been down on myself for this, that and the other and the list seems to grow every day.  Sure, I can and do put on my cheerleader hat from time to time and attempt to snap myself out of the mental funk, but it’s been only temporary.

I don’t know about you, my I am certain that my mental game plays an extremely important part, if not the most important part, of my overall physical being.  One of my favorite quotes:  If you think you can’t, you can’t.  If you think you can, you can.  Or something like that.  I love it, love it, love it.  But sometimes life gets in the way and I get bogged down in the negative self-talk.  It’s time to kick that sh!t to the curb and get back on the A-train to loving myself.

Three Things- Loving Our Insides

  • I have power, strength and discipline with my workouts and half marathon training cycles.
  • I can and do tell the *debbie downer* that occasionally shows her ugly side to back the *eff* off and take a back seat (hello San Diego half marathon and my bum hip- I could have given up running right then and there. Instead, after a little time to let my ego heal, I rehabbed that darn thing and got back to running).
  • I am not afraid to try new things and commit to them whole-heartedly (hello Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred!  hello EA Sports Active! hello running!  hello duathlons!  hello cycling on the road with big, fast cars with distracted drivers at the wheel! hello swimming in lakes where you can’t see doggone anything but your own body- freaky! hello crazy fun Zumba!)

So will you play along with me?  I want to remind myself of the things I love about my insides, my inner beauty if you will.

We all have it within us- it’s time to let it all shine out.

Write a post and leave the link down below or you can also leave your Three Things in the comments section- make sure to check everyone out and leave some comment love : ).
