I Love Me Revisited

[ 2 ] 01/05/2012 |

I am sure that you all know about our awesome new challenge that started on January 1, 2012. I am in it with everything I’ve got. I need it and I want it badly.

What you might not know, is that there is something else going on in January that could go hand in hand with this challenge. Did you know that January is Self Love month? I know, it’s a little funny if you think about it. If you write with the people I write with, it’s really funny. But…once you get past the giggles, it’s really pretty awesome.

Why shouldn’t we love ourselves? We are pretty spectacular beings. Think of all the great things that we can do. Think of the simplest things right on down to the amazing. We can clap our hands and we can run marathons. We can blink our eyes and we can do triathalons. I think that is pretty awesome.

There is a website that you might like to visit that is totally about Self Love month and loving yourself. Daylle Deanna Schwartz has written a book called “How Do I Love Me? Let Me Count The Ways” that you can download for free at this website. She’s a pretty amazing lady that has some wonderful ideas. Take a minute and check her out.

In October of 2010, we did a monthly project with Christie called “I Love Me”. We took a pledge then to love ourselves. This might be just time to revisit that post and take the pledge again. Please go back and take a look.

Here’s the bottom line…We have to love ourselves first. How can we expect anyone else to love us if we don’t love ourselves? We are really awesome people and there isn’t a reason in the world to not love ourselves. We might never be perfect, but who the heck is? We love you, so why not love yourselves? Look at this button below and tell yourself that you love you. Tell yourself all the time. You are a very important person and matter to so many people. Now is the time to remember that you need to matter to yourself too.

About Nancy: I'm a 59 year old wife, mom and grammy. I've been married to my wonderful husband for 40 years and we have four daughters and four grandchildren. I've been chosen to be the mature voice of the Sisterhood and I couldn't be more excited. My passions are my family, photography and my new found enthusiasm for fitness and weight loss. In a moment of crazy, I signed up to walk the 2013 Indianapolis Mini Marathon and believe it or not, I survived! View author profile.

Love you! (and myself if I’m honest although I don’t always act like it!) Glad we are re-visiting this! I need a reminder!
