Is it just me or does it seem like running is the new craze? Every where I look, people are becoming runners. People who never thought they’d ever dream of running are now signing up for 1/2 marathons, running 12 races in 12 months, and some are even qualifying for Boston!! There are grandma’s running in tutus, beautiful women raising money for great causes, and other awesome Sisters mentoring fledgling runners.
When I look on Twitter, Facebook, and even Pinterest, I see running. When I’m in line at the grocery store, I overhear women talking about running. When I look in my tiny local paper, I see an article about a group of runners in my area.
WOW. Am I just noticing it now because I am more enmeshed in the healthy living world? Or is running the new black?
Whatever the reason, I want to say congratulations to all of the women I’ve linked to and to all the other women among our ranks who are hitting the pavement. I knew most of them before they were runners, and seeing the amazing things they are accomplishing through running makes me feel like a really, really proud Sister.
If you’re interested in joining the running craze, we have an excellent series on How To Start Running Now!
