Toot Your Horn Tuesday {July 31}

It’s been awhile since I’ve done the tooting around here! Hold on while I grab a shovel, I might have to dig REAL DEEP! I kid… sort of.

So, last week, I drug my ass to my local YMCA… you know, the one I used to visit on a regular basis. I got on a scale and weighed in WHILE someone else was watching. EEEEK! Wouldn’t you know it, that scale was a good 6 lbs heavier than my home scale. Jerk. I didn’t cry. Instead, I grabbed a sweat towel and climbed up on the Precor machine and attacked those intervals with a vengeance.

I am now on Week 2 of our Healthy Wage challenge {hey, we’re Team Shrinking Jeans}. If you minus the weekend, I’ve been doing awesome with my eating! One side toot from the weekend: I survived camping with my kids {including my 7-month-old foster baby!} with NO HUSBAND. In a tent. Do you know how much equipment camping requires for just one night with a baby?! Ohmy.

How have you been doing? Tell me the good stuff down in the comments or leave a link to your tootin’ blog post!

P.S. Did you know the Shrinking Olympics are happening right now? Anyone can join in the competition, now through August 9th!

    I have a size 8 dress hanging in my closet, and it fits! Feels great after starting in  a tight size 16 at the beginning of this year.

    Camping with a baby, Melissa?  Are you Superwoman or something?  The bravest thing I ever did when my sons were babies (well, okay, they were four and two) was take them to Washington, D.C.  When we got home my father asked them what was the coolest thing they saw in Washington and they each said, “We got ice cream at an ice cream shop each night!”  At that point, I realized that I would simply take them out to get ice cream, right here in Louisville, and tell them, “Okay guys, we’re visiting New York City” (and then Chicago, San Fransisco, Dallas, Miami, etc.)

    I’ve been so on track with my calories and exercise this summer! I feel strong and hopefully the scale reflects that. :)
