A Fitbit Zip Review and Giveaway

I don’t know about you, but I look for all the help and inspiration I can get in this weight loss and fitness journey I am on. I’ve grown up enough to know that if sounds to good to be true, it probably is. I’ve also learned that if people keep talking about a product over and over, it might be time to look into it. And now I’m doing a Fitbit Zip review for you!

This happened with me and Fitbit. It was the summer of 2011 and I kept hearing about this Fitbit thing over and over. I decided to do some research. I learned that Fitbit tracks your steps, distance, and calories burned and syncs those stats to your computer and select smartphones. I was intrigued. I found out that I had enough rewards points on my credit card to get a free Fitbit Ultra, so I ordered it. My logic was that if I hated it, I wouldn’t be out any real money.

I didn’t have to worry….I loved my new Fitbit! Talk about motivating. I decided that my goal would be to get no less than 10,000 steps a day. It didn’t matter if I had to jump on the treadmill at midnight or walk around the house for five minutes. If I didn’t have at least 10,000 steps at the end of the day, I didn’t take my Fitbit off till I did. If I was looking for motivation, I had found it.

I put my Fitbit on first thing in the morning. I checked it numerous times during the day. One day, I went to check it and when I pushed the button nothing happened. No display, nothing to tell me how I was doing. I was so sad.

A friend said I should email the company and I did. They were wonderful. First, they had me try resetting the system. When that didn’t work, they sent me a new Fitbit. I was back in business and thrilled to have my Fitbit back.

Now comes the sad part of the story. I had my new Fitbit and checked it several times a day, just like with my old one. I always kept it clipped in my pocket or waistband. One day, I reached down to check it and it was gone. I retraced my steps. I looked all over the house. I tore my car apart. I went back to work to check there. I even went to the grocery store and looked there. Try explaining a Fitbit to the people behind the service counter! It was gone and couldn’t find it.

I decided that when my Christmas Club check came around the first of November, I would replace it. I didn’t have to wait that long. I was surprised and thrilled when I got an email asking if I would like to do a review of the new Fitbit Zip. Yes please!!!!

Within days, I had the new Fitbit Zip and I was back in business. The first thing I noticed was how tight the clip on it was. For good measure, I am clipping this one inside my bra. I am not losing this one ever.

Fitbit isn’t just a tracker. It is a whole website dedicated to “me”. I cannot only track my steps, distance and calories burned, I can keep track of my food, my activities, my weight and so much more. I love watching the graphics for my activity during the day. They have apps for your phone too! It even runs on a battery, so there is no having to recharge it every couple days. It’s just cool and I love it.

My Fitbit Zip is one of the best things that has happened to my fitness. It keeps me on track, it keeps me honest and it keeps me wanting to do good. All I have to do is look down at that little display and see how I’m doing. It makes me feel good about me and who can’t use that.

Now, Fitbit would like one of you to be able to try the new Fitbit Zip! They have offered us a new Zip, exchange for our Fitbit Zip review, to give away to one of our lucky readers. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be able to offer you all this opportunity. Here is how you can enter. Tell us what’s at the top of your wish list if money were no object. That’s pretty easy, right? Maybe not. I can think of quite few things, so picking just one might be hard.

You have one week to enter. We will draw a winner on Saturday December 1. Good luck to everyone. If I could, I would give everyone a Fitbit Zip. I think they are that good.
