O’Fitness Tree {25 Days of Exercise}

Can you believe it’s December first?  Father Time, what the heck are ya trying to do to me, I ask you?!

Are you all ready for all that this month will bestow on you? The hectic schedule, the maxed out calendar of commitments, with a dose of guilt thrown in from time to time for good measure? The frenzied cleaning, the card-writing, cookie-baking, carpooling, caroling, church-attending, family-visiting, highway-traveling  busy pace of this month -  I am exhausted just thinking about it!

Yes, I know this is the  Season of Joy. Family visits. Santa pictures. All of that really is quite joyous. But  let’s face it folks. December often kicks our butts. It is an exhausting month we attempt to tackle at a marathon pace. The thing is, without an outlet for YOU, for your sanity and grasp of a little “me” time,  Santa’s little helper could turn into one grumpy camper.

I have a gift for you my friends. Just in time for the Month of Madness. Enter, O’Fitness Tree – 25 Days of Exercise!

This has been one of my go-to tradition for the last two years. Here’s how it works: Print out this spiffy printable advent calendar and hang it up somewhere where you will see it every day. For every day you exercise, give yourself an “ornament” in the form of a sticker. I use peel and stick gift tags from the Dollar Store. You decide what constitutes earning a sticker to you. Only have time for 15 minutes of intention exercise because your kids have three Nutcracker performances in one day? It counts. Give yourself a sticker. The point is that you are PURPOSELY MOVING every day through the holidays. Remember, too, that you have to water your tree every day! Get in at least 64 oz. of water daily! By the time Christmas rolls around, your tree will look something like this:

 

You benefit in feeling a sense of pride as your tree fills up, feeling a sense of control in taking the time to do something for you EVERY day amidst all the things you have to get done and you will help keep those holiday pounds from taking up permanent residency on your body.

    Love this!! I’m doing a Christmas Squat Challenge as well as a Walk Thru December challenge, so I’ll use this to mark off each day as I complete my challenge tasks. Thanks!! :)

    Oh what a FUN idea! Going to add this to my pinterest boards so that I have access to it for next year. I’m sick right now so no exercise today and possibly tomorrow so this year probably wouldn’t work :(

      and I did a 20 minute stretching with on demand- my body needed it so I am going with it- think I’ll be printing this out and putting it up!

    I freaking love this!!!! Also, I think I will print out copies for my kids and have them *do* something else, like if they have a good attitude/behavior for the day or show kindness, they get a sticker and earn some kind of prize on Christmas day.

      Lisa, I love that idea! I should print out another one myself and give myself a sticker for everday I declutter a bit. Maybe that would help me to actually get some of that done instead of putting it off and putting it off!
