Pure Protein Review {Giveaway}

Not long ago, we posted an informative article about the benefits of consuming 30 grams of protein immediately after a workout or run. Research has found that 30 grams seems to be the *magic* number to give your muscles the tools they need to do the building and repairing that peaks in the 3 to 5 hours post-workout.

Pure Protein gives you an assortment of great tasting ways to make sure you’re getting the protein you need to build a lean, strong body. The whey protein comes in several tasty flavors, and even offers an all-natural variety for those looking to avoid artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners. Pure Protein’s also got your on-the-go lifestyle covered with convenient Ready-to-Drink canned shakes and 9 delicious bar flavors that you can toss into your purse or gym bag.

If weight loss is your goal, a diet including Pure Protein will keep your body fueled and hunger satisfied. You can even find a 7-day meal plan on the Pure Protein website that outlines daily snacks and meals with nutritional information.

When I was asked to do a Pure Protein Review, I was excited to try it out! Some things I love about Pure Protein Whey Powder: not gritty at all. The powder is very fine, so it blends easily, and the great vanilla cream flavor that makes a smoothie so thick and rich. It made me feel full and satisfied for a long time, without a crash from too much sugar. I think I’ll definitely be incorporating it into my morning breakfast smoothies for the entire family! My kids loved their breakfast ‘shakes’, and having the ability to make them even healthier makes this mom happy.

Pure Protein Review, Banana Blueberry Smoothie

The Ready-to-Drink shakes were super convenient to grab out of the fridge, but they were a little thin which left me feeling less satisfied than when I blended up a smoothie with the powder. We enjoyed several flavors of the bars, with the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup flavor being the household favorite. I mean, hello, chocolate and peanut butter = WIN WIN!

Here’s my favorite recipe using Pure Protein Whey Powder:

Hmm. I guess I will only get one entry this time around! I would say most embarrassing would be running into Crossfit class late and *completely* wiping out face plant. And knee scrape. (Just a preview of Crossfit damage- two dislocated shoulders! :-( I guess I am not cut out for that!) But I would love a post workout (just not Crossfit!) protein shake!
I’ll have to do other entries some other day….
    Bye!

A complete face plant coming off of the curb while running. There were lots of cars at a stoplight, so a big audience as well.

  • Patty

Embarrassing moment: being uncoordinated in my first group Zumba fitness class.

  • Susan Cope

I lost some weight but didn’t replace my workout pants. One day when I went for a run, they started to fall off. I kept having to stop to hike them back up every 20 yards or so. I ended up cutting the run short.

  • Kristi

Let’s just say it is very difficult to hold up your shorts when you are trying to run.

  • Ttrockwood

I was late for swim practice and only had my bikini. I finally left after i flashed my teammates the third time….

Our gym has two stories, cardio equipment upstairs and weights down stairs. i hadn’t even started yet, so i thought i would sprint up the stairs. every little bit counts right? FACE PLANTED going up the stairs. I’m not talking about a little trip, I am talking total face dive into the stairs. And of course the guys think they need to be heroes and run over to me which makes me even more embarrassed. I didn’t even want to work out I was so embarrassed, but of course I just shrugged it off like something happened. My wrists sure did hurt though. haha.

Funny you ask because just this weekend I was running with my 2 dogs and I tripped on a piece of raw iron sticking out of the concrete and landed in a pushup position. luckily it was cold out so I had gloves on so I didn’t get to scratched up! It shook me up a bit and of course a few neighbors saw! omg Just had to pick myself up and keep going!

I am unfortunately the queen of faceplants. It’s a tie between falling on my face in crow pose during an advanced vinyasa yoga class, and limping home bloody and bruised after tripping over nothing on a sidewalk before work on a weekend morning run…I think the fact that a dog sniffed me while I was lying on the pavement makes the latter even more embarrassing haha

My most embarrassing exercise moment would be during swim team practice before a meet in high school. I wasn’t paying attention and got kicked in the face by the girl in front of me. I ended up with a cut and bleeding black eye and had to compete in the rest of the meet.

After doing a set on the cable machine on a very busy day at the gym, I turned around and basically body slammed this poor guy. After the shock was over and I walked away I just started laughing.

My most embarrassing exercise moment happened several years ago. I had been crushing on one of the regulars at the gym and we had started making eye contact/smiles the past few visits. I got bold one day and decided to go over to the free weights where he was working out at, bent over and picked up weights that were too heavy for me (pride wouldn’t let me put them back down) and I took a deep breath, lifted with all my might and out came the longest and most loud gas of my entire existence. Mortified!

I can’t come up with an embarrassing exercise moment because I typically exercise at home by myself. :-( Although it is rather embarassing when I’m trying to walk and the dog decides to run circles, and I have to do pirouets as I’m heading down the street.

I don’t have a good one about me but I used to work at a gym where these 2 guys were doing bench press on the smith machine and the guy working out lost control of the bar and the 225 lbs bounced off this guy’s upper chest! It was the craziest thing I ever saw! Now that guy was embarrassed!

Mymost embarrassing moment happened shortly after I had my son. I was breastfeeding at the time and socked through my shirt in perfect circles.

My most embarrassing workout moment? Well, I once tripped and went FLYING into a full on face-plant while running on the treadmill. At least I wasn’t hurt besides a few bruises!

  • JoeDillon1

The main reason for this is that it assists with the recovery of the muscle. The other reason why it is important to read these reviews therefore is that these products contain various different components.
