Toot Your Horn Tuesday

tootyourhorn
I was going great guns last week with weight loss, workouts and eating right. Then, BOOM! The flu hit me like a ton of bricks. Everything stopped. The only muscles that I was working were the ones I was using heaving into the toilet. Sorry, TMI! But, you get the picture.

When I took this Tuesday for a post, I wanted it to be a Toot Your Horn Tuesday. What was I going to do now? Lucky for me, sometimes material just presents itself.

I was chosen as a Fitbit ambassador! I am just beginning the process, so there isn’t much that I can tell you about it yet, but I am so excited. I love my Fitbit Zip and figured why not try. I responded on a whim, never expecting to be chosen. But….I was! I am so proud of myself. I keep taking these little steps out of my box and they keep making me happy. It’s a really good thing. At my age, stepping out of my box isn’t always easy, but I keep telling myself that it is important to try and look where it got me!

Enough about me. How about you? What great things do you have to brag about today? A personal best on a race? A weight loss in the new challenge? Awesome workouts? We’d love to hear all about. Just leave your accomplishments in the comments below. By the way, be very proud of yourself.

I competed in the Zooma Women’s Half Marathon in Austin with my best friends this weekend and finished 19 MINUTES ahead of my previous time. I have some major bling to prove my body is strong. Resting my legs this week, but opted for an arm work out today off your Feb gun show calendar.

Hey Nicholle! I ran Zooma too. Do you live in Austin or elsewhere? Congrats on your PR!!!

For your 1st 5K 38 minutes is NOT slow! I ran my first in 53 min. which is really more like a walk than a run. Congrats Lauren!

I am on day 26 of a squat challenge and am officially down 15 lbs. and to top it off the family is on month 3 of our new clean eating way of life and I’m happy to say we are successful about 95% of the time.

my favorite part? you’re allowing yourself freedom to not be perfect. i’m sure that’s only helping the transition (and truly making it a way of life). a big ^5 to you and the family!!

My toot for the week is that I didn’t blow all efforts of weight loss over the past 2 weeks as we were moving to a new place! I organized and handled most aspects of the move without caving to massive junk food splurges! Almost done with the move now and then I can get back to my daily workouts! The new place even has a gym I get to use for FREE!! Yay!

that’s awesome ann!! i’m about to move. care to bring your expertise to TN and help a sista out? ;)

Ran one mile without stopping – and without numb feet or calf pain! A huge breakthrough for me. Going to do it again today – and maybe push myself to do 1.5!

woooo to the hooo!! that first mile is the hardest. keep it up!!

Yesterday morning when I got up for my run it was snowing hard! Not the light fluffy snow, but huge wet snow flakes. I went for my run anyway! The old me would have said, “No way am I going out in that mess!” The new me loved every second of it. Even the soaking wet parts, and when I realized I should have put on a baseball hat so I could see, but I was already a mile down the road.

  • Margo

Better late than never… last nights workout was 10kms in 1:02:40. This is 12 full minutes off my 10km race time..whoo hoo!!!
