Toot Your Horn Tuesday

I am resurrecting Toot Your Horn Tuesday and I couldn’t be happier. I achieved a major goal last Saturday and I want to share it with you all. Toot, toot!!!

In January, I decided that it was time to get serious about my weight loss and fitness journey. I had let myself fall off the wagon a little and it was time to get back in full swing. I figured a new year with new goals was the way to go. Boy oh boy, was I right!

The first thing I did was get back on My Fitness Pal. I always do better when I track my food. It keeps me accountable. I have found that if I know I have to log the food in, I will think twice about eating something that I know isn’t the best choice.

Next, I started going to a new school to work out. This was the smartest thing I have done in a very long time. The classes, the instructors, the people I work out with are just a perfect fit for me. I am doing really well there. I am losing weight and inches and I feel so good.

Last, I set some goals. I started out going to classes three nights a week for a total of four classes. I am now up to going five days a week and doing ten classes. I truly love going to the classes. I am challenged and I really push myself to do my best.

I did set one more “big” goal. I signed up for the One America Indianapolis Half Marathon. It was twelve weeks of training that was a huge time commitment. Towards the end, we (one of the girls I work out with) were doing nine and ten mile walks on our already busy weekends. But—we did them.

When they put this bad boy around my neck on Saturday, I was prouder of myself than I had been in a very long time. I had worked really hard and I felt like I truly deserved this medal.

So, how about you? I know some of you did races this past weekend too. It’s time to toot your horn and be proud of your accomplishments. Tell us all about them in the comments below. I can’t wait to hear.
