Baboosh Body Review and Giveaway {closed}

Baboosh! How is that for a silly word? Silly, but cool. I’m doing a review and giveaway of the Baboosh Body wrap by Brooke Burke-Charvet. I didn’t really know what to expect. I had heard things pro and con about body wraps. I was excited to test one out for myself.

You all know who Brooke Burke-Charvet is, right? She’s the co host (and former winner) of Dancing with the Stars and CEO at modernmom.com. She is the mother of four and has a body that most of us would kill for. She has worked hard for that body, but has had some help too from the Baboosh.

Before I received my Baboosh, I did some research on the website. Here are some of the things I found out……….

•Unisex core wrap is made out of nylon and neoprene
•Promotes intense sweating to help you lose inches quickly from your waist!
•3-panel construction will allow for a snug fit
•Baboosh Body is available in two sizes
•Comfortable, lightweight, and durable

The first time I wore my Baboosh was for a cardio circuit class. I learned very quickly that they weren’t kidding when they said it promotes intense sweating. OMG! My back and stomach were soaking wet. It was kind of gross, but I stuck it out. The next time I wore it was for a walk and it wasn’t nearly as hot and sweaty. Wearing it for a yoga class was kind of a happy medium between walking and cardio.

I kind of got used to the sweaty feeling around my middle. I don’t think that I could ever say that I liked that feeling, but I did like what appeared to be happening. Things were beginning to tighten up a little. My waist appeared to be getting a little smaller. I wish that I had the presence of mind to measure myself, but I didn’t. I know that I didn’t lose six inches, but possibly an inch or two in a pretty short amount of time. I had only been wearing it off and on for about two weeks. It was in the 90’s then and I didn’t really need any extra help to sweat then. I’m really anxious to try it when it cools off and it won’t be so terribly hot.

Here’s a picture of Brooke in a Baboosh. It is really simple to put on and wear. The key is to pull it tight.

The bottom line is that I am intrigued by the Baboosh. After such a little time, I know it works. That makes me want to try it again when it isn’t so freaking hot. Then I’ll see what it can really do.

Now for the good news…..Modern Mom and Brooke Burke Charvet have a Baboosh with your name on it. They are letting me give one away to one of you. Who wants to win it? All you have to do is tell me what activity you would use the Baboosh for first. Would you wear it to run, take a tabata class, zumba? What would be your first choice to try it out? Leave your answer in the comments. The contest is open till next Friday, September 6. I will post the winner in an update to this post on Saturday, September 7. Good luck!!

    I would wear it through a Crossfit class to see how quickly the excess sweat is activated and what impact is has. I’m thinking it would probably help a bit with posture, too just by being aware that something is cinched around your torso so maybe it’ll help with my squat form.
