Are you feeling like a stuffed turkey after this past week’s Thanksgiving holiday? It’s time to un-stuff yourself with our awesome, FREE monthly workout calendar! This month, it’s all about the burpees. You did not just groan, did you? Oh, wait. That was me. We may not love to do burpees, but your body will love you for doing them!
Are you wondering what the heck a burpee even is? Follow along with our fabulous editor, Christy, as she demonstrates how to perform a burpee in the Shrinking Bootcamp video below.
Begin a burpee in a standing position. Your feet should be shoulder-width apart. Now, lower your body into a squatting position, placing your hands on the floor in front of you. Kick your feet back so that you are in push-up position. Use your hands to support your body, and then jump your feet back up into squatting position, then stand up. Repeat!
As with all of our monthly workout calendars, these daily exercises are intended to supplement your current fitness routine. Add the 31 Days of Burpees to the O’Fitness Tree calendar and you will be looking mighty fine by the end of December!
Stay aware of your form at all times! It’s quality, not quantity that counts. If you find the daily total too difficult to achieve, do as many burpees as you can, or break it up into smaller sets as you go about your day. Think the challenge is too easy? See below. This workout is for YOU. Challenge yourself, but not to the point of injury.
If you are finding that this burpee challenge is just too easy for you, up the sets you do each day. If the calendar calls for 12 burpees, do 12 in the morning and 12 at night. If it’s STILL TOO EASY? You’re crazy. Kidding! Sort of. Up it to 3 sets of burpees throughout your day, or add push-ups into each burpee!
Don’t forget to take some before and after photos of yourself so you can see your progress at the end of the month.
