It’s fall here in northwest Indiana and for the life of me, I don’t see how people live where you don’t get to see these beautiful color changes. I’m sure many of you will say you don’t see how I can live where we have the extreme winters that we can have. I guess it’s all a matter of preference. Whatever the reasons, fall is a time of changes and I like that.
One of the other things we have where I live is time changes. Spring ahead and fall back. Last night was fall back. We gain an hour. This means that for awhile, I’ll be waking up at 4:30 instead of 5:30. My body is used to that timing and it will take a while to get back in sync. I can use this to my advantage!
My plan is to take that extra hour and use it to get in some extra exercise. No sense in wasting it on the computer or flipping channels. I can get on the treadmill and watch tv. I can do a yoga video and stretch for the day ahead. It just can’t be anything too noisy because the rest of the house will still be asleep. I figure if I get used to being up then, as my body gets used to it, I can move it to 5:00 and still get in a half hour. It sounds like a plan to me.
As I was writing this post, I got the most exciting phone call about some family changes. Our beautiful granddaughter Haley has arrived. She was just waiting for her due date. Mommy and Haley are both good, but we are waiting till morning to go and meet her. Mom and dad are exhausted after a long night and day. This is going to be very hard, but I can do it.
Changes! They are what life is all about!
