A Running Tragedy- Megs Miles – The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

I understand accidents happen.  I understand something tragic can happen in a split second.  I know it happens.  I read about it in the news.  It sucks.  I feel sad.  I wonder *why*.

But then something happens that I can totally imagine happening here in my world.

A mother of three children, a runner, out on her morning run, is struck by a car and killed.

I am a mother of three children, a runner, whom runs in the morning.

Oh goodness.  Those children.  Her husband.  The driver.  The driver’s family.  All of them affected terribly in something so senseless and tragic.  It breaks my heart in pieces to imagine the pain of those children growing up without their mama.  It pains me that she died doing something that brought her so much joy.  Her husband a widow now when he just thought she was going for her *morning run*.

Sunday, I will run 13.1 miles in my seventh half marathon.  Me, the mother of three, will run every single one of those miles for Meg, a mother of three who now runs in Heaven.

Life just isn’t fair sometimes…..but I will run for Meg and I am sure I will shed a few tears for a woman I never met but whom I shared a love a running with.

The running community- we are strong and we come together in times like this.

Will you join me this weekend- run some miles for Megs Miles?  If you aren’t a runner, then walk or bike some miles for a life cut too short.  She was 34 years old.

R.I.P Meg.
