I turn 60 in about four and a half months. I am taking this very seriously. I have a “60 bucket” that I am filling with experiences that I have pushed myself into. I’m stepping outside my comfort zone and trying new things. I’m not worrying about who thinks what. I’ve spent far too long worrying about that.
I’ve also come to some realizations about life in general. I keep a collection of quotes that I go back to and read when I need to. I’d like to share some of my favorites with you. The old saying says that with age comes wisdom. Maybe it does! At least it sure seems like it does.
Don’t wait to live your life. When you are happy with yourself and who you are, you are better not only for yourself, but everyone around you. If you step outside your comfort zone, you will be amazed at all the things you will find out about yourself. I am amazing myself with who I am. Pick one thing this week that you wouldn’t have normally considered doing and give it a try. It just takes one little step to get started. Don’t be like me and wait so long to try. It really is amazing. I promise!
AWESOME!!! Thank you for sharing… I have an older sister named Nancy… who I wish could read these and follow suit!!
I have two older sisters who could use to read these. lol
I love those pictures of your fav quotes. They do make a person think about how you want to live the rest of your life and who you want to be too. I too am an “older” sister and as I have aged, I have realized a lot of those pictures are so right on. Wonder why we need to be older to appreciate the good things in our lives? But we do, and I am so happy to be here, to be able to enjoy them too.
It is amazing to me that it took me so long to realize this stuff. I am so much happier now that I don’t put up with other people’s “stuff”. Sometimes I still do, but I keep getting better and better at it. I want me girls to learn this way before I did.
love the one about not waiting to reach the goal to be proud. i’ve been stressing about my “PR at every distance in 2014” goal – the very fact that I have a shot of making this happen is remarkable of itself. thanks for the perspective!!
I want to be you when I grow up, Nancy!! You are such an inspiration!! Love all of these quotes!! My favorite is: Enjoy the little things in life…
Love these inspiring quotes! I’ve shared the one about being proud of yourself with my Weight Watchers group for inspiration and I’m going to print a copy to hang on my fridge. Also, so glad to have found you. I’m the oldest of three girls so I can relate to you!:-)
