WOAH doggies! Summer is winding down, the kids are going back to school, and I pulled my jeans out today and they were a little snug. WHAT? Yeah, it’s true, I’ve been a little relaxed with my eating (ahem), and being down with plantar fasciitis has all but ceased my exercise regimen. My routine has basically been shot with all the summer activities and traveling. Isn’t it aggravating how easy it is to gain 5 pounds (or 10…whatever!) on vacation, and yet it’s so hard it is to lose those same 5 pounds? SO DUMB.
What am I going to do about it? It’s time to get Back to Basics and get back to a routine of menu planning, healthy eating, and exercise. And of course, it’s time for a weight loss challenge!
I’m also going to host a DietBet 4 game! I know I’m not the only one out there realizing that those summer barbecues with frosty adult beverages added a couple of inches to my buns. It’s time to get back on track, recommit to my goals, and get down to business so I can fit back into my jeans!
What’s a DietBet?

Details on our Back to Basics DietBet & Weight Loss Challenge
When does it start? Wednesday, September 3rd
When does it end? Wednesday, October 1st

Do I have to join the DietBet? No! You can follow along here on the site each week when we check-in. But it’s really fun to join a DietBet, so I highly recommend it!
How much does it cost? $25
Who can join? Anyone! You, your mom, sister, neighbor, husband, brother, uncle, daughter, dad, best friend, and co-workers. Recruit everyone know to join you and it will help keep you motivated!
How does it work? You sign up, and on September 3rd, you weigh in, pay your bet, snap some photos and submit your weight through the DietBet website or app.
Then what do I do? Lose 4% of your body weight over the next 4 weeks and WIN! So if you weigh 200 pounds, you’d have to lose 8 pounds in 4 weeks. If you weigh 160 pounds, you’d have to lose 6.4 pounds. Everyone who loses 4% splits the pot at the end of the game.
Why should I join your DietBet? It’s FUN! It keeps you motivated to participate in a weight loss challenge with a group of people with like goals. And of course, paying the money having a specific goal keeps you accountable.
What else do I need to know?
Each Wednesday, we have a check-in post here at the Sisterhood, and we’ll issue a mini-challenge to help keep you motivated and on track. We also publish a monthly fitness calendar that target specific muscle groups each month. Look for a new one on September 1st, but be sure to check all of them out and print out a few! You can also check out our totally free, 6-week online bootcamp class. There’s no since in trying to lose weight by dieting alone. You’ll feel much better if you exercise daily, too.
