Good morning from rainy Texas!! It’s rained so much and I’m so over the rain that some of my true confessions this week have to do with the rain! But, some good stuff has happened lately that I want to share so I’m going to do some tooting, too! Here we go!!

Confession: I’m tired of the rain that has been falling over the past 5 months!! Here in north Texas we have already had more than a whole year’s worth of rain….in five and a half months!! I NEED the sunshine!!

Toot: One day last week we had a day off from the rain, and I went for a nice long 5 mile walk!

Confession: During my nice, long 5 mile walk I got a sunburn!! I didn’t think about the fact that we hadn’t had sun in so long and forgot to wear sunscreen!! It hurt….and I have family history of melanoma, so I really need to remember the sunscreen!!

Toot: I went to Kansas for my niece’s college graduation this past weekend and walked my 6 mile training walk with my brother! We walked and talked and chatted about live and stuff! I didn’t even realize we had walked so far, but when he asked what the mileage was registering I looked and was surprised to see that we had indeed walked the 6 miles that I was supposed to walk for my Susan G. Komen 3-Day training schedule. This was the first time I had walked while on a trip out of town, and it felt great!

Confession: I drank a lot of coke while in Kansas. It is my kryptonite! And it’s gotta go!

Toot: I also drank a lot of water while in Kansas! I was guzzling water, just like I always do and one of my family members was shocked to hear that you should drink at least half your body weight in water every day. My son is following my footsteps and drinks a lot of water, too! When he doesn’t he gets charlie horses in his legs and he HATES those, so this makes it easier for him to remember to drink more water.

Confession: I drove 20 miles out of my way to buy gluten free (and vegan) cupcakes for my son and myself, so that we would would have treats for the graduation party. They were yummy and totally worth going out of my way to make sure he had a treat while his cousins were eating cupcakes and cookies.

Toot: I went to my favorite Mexican restaurant in Kansas and DID NOT have gluten!! I didn’t have gluten the whole weekend, even though there were plenty of opportunities for it! There was cake and cookies and many other yummies but I knew that I would be hurting if I ate it so I didn’t!! I’m learning to be conscience of these things.

Confession: I did have a huge banana split on the way home! My stomach hurt so much after eating it I thought I was going to be sick! I think I have finally learned my lesson. Ice cream and I don’t get along the way we used to!

Toot: I’m just about 4 months away from my fifth Susan G. Komen 3-Day and I feel like I am doing a good job of training this year. I am walking a lot hilly routes (as much as I can in north Texas, that is). I’m doing some cross training with a couple of kettle bell dvd’s that I bought and I feel like I’m getting my nutrition figured out. I’m excited to walk with my friends and finally meet my online friend, Karena! I’m being consistent with my training, like I know I need to, and it will make a difference during the event!

Okay, that’s enough confessions and toots from me for this week, I would love to hear some of yours! Leave them in the comments so I can cheer for your accomplishments and give you a boost if you need it!

xoxoxo,

Ann
