Funny thing about that month of June. While I’m personally partial to it (ahem, it’s my birthday month!), one can’t help but notice that at the same time June is ramping you up for summer, she is also bitch-slapping you in the face because the year is half over. HALF. OVER.!!

Remember back in January when the calendar was blank and fresh and our ambitions were higher than any snow drift outside our door? Chances are, a lot of us made New Year’s resolutions. How did you do with those? According to a study published last year by the University of Scranton Psychology Department, only 8 percent of people who make resolutions are successful at achieving them. 8 percent! I am not in the 8 percent, not by a long shot.  The study also showed that six months into the year more than half of the participants in the study had given up on them completely.

For those of you in the SJ community who are still plugging away at their resolutions, the SJ8%, my hat is off to you. For the rest of us, have no fear. I’m here to tell you we still have time to do some good for our bodies, for our minds and for our souls before 2015 is in the rear view mirror entirely. It’s time for JuneYears Resolutions! Just like in January, let’s use June as a time to re-group and recharge and finish out the year STRONG. Who wants to join me in listing a few JuneYears Resolutions?  Just like we advise you in January, give these some serious thought and write them down. Commit them to paper.  Let’s use the hashtag #JuneYearsResolutions and share with the world what we intend to make happen for ourselves. It’s not too late. It’s never too late. I may even dust off my personal Twitter account (find me @FiddlersBride). I’ll go first. Each of these things listed here I had set out to do in January and some more than others fell by the wayside.

My #JuneYearsResolutions:

  • Never skip a WW meeting. If I know I will be out of town and miss my usual meeting, I will find another meeting in its place.
  • Complete one 5k for each month for the rest of the year. (This will assist in helping me to hit a particular PR I have in mind)
  • Declutter 15 minutes every day.
  • Get 8 hours of sleep on most nights of the week.

Your turn! Hit me up and let’s do this! What are your #JuneYearsResolutions?

xoxoxo
