It’s been almost a month since I told you about The North Face’s Mountain Athletics training app and completed my first workout -and I’m happy to report I’m still going strong! I haven’t been able to achieve daily workouts just yet, but I am working out 2-3 times a week using the app, which for me is awesome!

My plan is to continue the Mountain Athletics training plan throughout the summer. #ITrainFor ME, and that means going at my own pace. The workouts are pretty intense, friends. I am DONE by the end of each one and find myself sweating like a mad woman. That’s a good thing though, right?

I am currently working on the General Fitness program. My goal is to finish the entire program by the end of summer. The workouts are tough -I can feel myself getting stronger with each workout, and that gives me the motivation to keep on going. The hardcore circuit is exactly that -HARDCORE! It consists of weighted sit-ups, knee slashers, and other killer moves.

And burpees? I will just never, ever love burpees.

My runs are still consisting of more walking than running, but my pace is increasing and I am huffing a puffing a little less than when I first started. I have a love/hate relationship with running. Usually, more hate than love!

I signed up to run the Zion half marathon in March 2016 and am planning on trying out the running-based training program the Mountain Athletics app offers a bit later in the fall.

Each workout is followed by stretching, which is important after any workout.

Again, my only real complaint about the training program is that it requires special equipment I will only find at a gym. It’s not convenient or realistic for me physically get to the gym several times a week, so I find myself having to make modifications to the workouts to get them done. I would love if The North Face offered a home-based training program that could be done without needing to go to the gym!

Other than that, I am feeling more energized, stronger, and less tired each and every time I workout with the Mountain Athletics training program!

Apparel

Check out the Mountain Athletics from The North Face apparel and gear online! Read more about my favorites here. In the photos above, I am wearing the Dynamix Hoodie and the Motivation Crop Leggings. I love both items, but I think I may need to invest in a cooler option for up top during the hot North Dakota summer!
