I Need a Challenge | The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

There are times when I find myself in a rut. I get to a place where I just hit that proverbial brick wall and can’t seem to move anywhere, with anything. My problem is always finding that boost to get me over it.

What’s your brick wall?

Is it food? Time? Energy? How are you tackling the problem?

For me, my greatest instigation for change is my four boys. I see them active and outside and I want to be right there with them. I want them to not be afraid to ask me for assistance with physical things. I want to be an example and a role model, not just their mom.

To help me along the way, I recently joined a 30-day challenge. These challenges are all the rage these days, and for good reason!

With the wonders of technology, we can connect with people across the globe, serve as inspirations for each other and give each other the support and boosts that we need to get out of those ruts. And it can come in all shapes and sizes.

Sometimes I need a challenge. It may be a little goading and prodding, many times its encouragement and uplifting statements, but it can even be something as simple as a good, honest smack down. It’s someone to answer to, someone to lean on and someone to look to for a little guidance.

It’s what this Sisterhood is all about. It’s why we have DietBets, Monthly Workout Calendars, and our Facebook Groups. Support, encouragement, and motivation.

But for it to be effective, we also need to know our motivation, and what gets us going. Is it new clothes? The thought of trying new foods? The way you feel watching yourself in the mirror? Find that motivation and hold onto it.

I’m looking forward to this new challenge. I can’t wait to see changes – and not just physical. It’s the mental and emotional ones that mean the most to me.

How about you? How do you keep your motivation up?
