Guys, I’m tough on workout gear.
When I say I’m tough, I mean I sweat like nobody’s business. No glowing. No perspiring. I sweat. My two current favorite workouts are spinning and barre, both drench fests. And I love it. But let’s just say, sometimes, things aren’t pretty at the end of class.
Not to mention, I am short on time always, so most days I work out then throw on a long top and head to the grocery store and pray no one stands close enough to catch a whiff.
Suffice it to say, I need workout gear that is not only super functional, I need it to be stylish enough to wear out and about. And cover the assets. You know, the whole ‘leggings are not pants’ mantra. I try to at least cover the bum…because the general public just is not ready for this jelly!
This summer, I attended a health and fitness conference was was introduced to the Soybu fitness apparel line. I’m not going to lie, I was salivating as I watched the fashion show. I kind of have a problem with buying workout gear…especially funky and fun patterned leggings and crops. And holy cats, Soybu has some amazingly fabulous patterns.
When Soybu contacted me and offered to send me and outfit, I was like, bring it. I wanted to give this line a try and see if it could stand up to my gym abuse.
I chose three pieces – the Alecia Tank, Killer Caboose tights and the Meryl Wrap. When they arrived, I tore into the package and put them on right away. I’d been hearing from friends how comfy and soft Soybu pieces are, and couldn’t wait be enveloped in comfort!
Here’s the lowdown:
The Meryl Wrap
I’m not shy to admit I have a cardigan problem. I wear one pretty much daily and half my closet is dedicated to the cardi. I have having a lightweight sweater to wear to and from the gym. It must be easy to wash and retain it’s shape or it’s no good to me. Luckily, the Meryl Wrap meets all my criteria, and then some. It’s long enough to cover up the assets when I need to run to the grocery store, but it’s not super voluminous and is chic and stylish. I love mine and wear it not only to the gym, but over dresses. It’s pretty much perfect!!
The Alecia Tank

Tanks with built in ‘support’ usually leave me laughing and or/cursing while holding the girls in as I jump around. The Alecia Tank has plenty of support for smaller busted women to go without any additional coverage during a workout. It worked great for me as a barre/yoga/pilates/spin top (low impact), but I did throw on an extra bra underneath when I was in boot camp and running. That said, I’m pretty weird about being totally secure when doing burpees, so I might have gone a bit overboard with support. I love the feel and the length of this tank, and the neckline is darling!
Killer Caboose Legging
My friends, I have saved the best (in my opinion) for last. I present the Killer Caboose Legging. Please note this is not my derriere, but I will say that my tush looked pretty good in these leggings. I just didn’t want my rear all over the internet.
What’s so great about these tights? Where do I start? First, as discussed above, super flattering. Second – soft. So very soft. I want to live in them.
Third? They’re long enough. My inseam is 34″ and I have length to spare. They even bunch a bit around the ankle, which I personally love.
As you can probably tell, I might have a little brand crush on Soybu. And I’m super excited because I get to give away a pair of Killer Caboose Leggings to one lucky reader. Plus? Everyone who signs up for Soybu’s newsletter automatically gets 25% off!
Want to enter? It’s easy – do these three things:

Hot dressing is questionable. There is by all accounts a bounty of unwritten guidelines about how ladies can and ought to dress attractive, when we can do it, how frequently we can do it, and how we ought to look when we do. Extra unwritten principles touch upon how old we can be and still dress attractive, how much or little we can weigh and still dress provocative, what number of characteristics or capacities we can have that vary from the apparent standards and still dress hot, without any end in sight and on. It’s staggering and incensing and these rundowns linger so vast that large portions of us have selected right out. Hot dressing is excessively loaded, excessively dangerous, excessively weighed down with the potential for judgment and error to considerably trouble. Numerous ladies are simply not intrigued by the investigation – positive or negative – that accompanies provocative dressing.

Not incidentally this movement happened amid a period of significant change for ladies in America.
