The stockings were hung, the bells were jingled, and now it’s time to turn our focus to what’s next… Getting Fit and Lean in 2016! And as always, the Sisterhood has plenty of ways to help you achieve fit-dom in the coming year – starting with our FREE workout calendar! This month, we are going back to a basic exercise –the push-up. Oh, stop with your groaning. However lame you think push-ups are, it can’t be argued that they DO produce results. It’s a new year, and we are here to bring you a NEW YOU! A better, more fit and lean version of yourself. Are you ready for a push-up challenge?
Check out this article for proper push-up form, as well as modified versions of the basic push-up. If you need to drop to your knees instead of your toes, that’s okay! You can work your way up to push-ups on your toes!
Another alternative for beginners is to do push-ups against a wall! You will build chest and arm strength that will allow you to move on to a more advanced push-up down the road.
If you find the push-ups too easy, add in a clap after each rep! If you can handle that, you are definitely a rockstar! Still need more of a challenge? Repeat the reps twice or three times daily!
Don’t forget… our workout calendars are designed to supplement your current fitness routine, not replace it. And please, focus on proper form!
