Bari started blogging back in 2009 after losing 50 pounds on Weight Watchers and then regaining 30 pounds of it after getting lazy and a few really great vacations. Since starting to blog, Bari has re-lost those 30 pounds, gained about 5 of them back and is now working to be happy with her stronger body just the way it is. (It ain’t easy, folks!)
Through blogging and twitter, Bari has developed some amazing friendships and discovered a love for running (and a tolerance of triathlons). She’s raced every distance from 5ks to a full marathon, but her addiction lies in the bling and challenge of the 13.1. Her favorite places to run are anywhere in site of water and you will rarely find her running without her music and trusty Garmin. Bari has bounced back from a serious running injury and this year managed to shave 20 minutes off her half marathon time. Bari is spending summer relaxing on her running goals a bit (because West Michigan is insanely hot) and training for her second triathlon and first 200 mile relay. She is also trying to develop a love of lifting heavy things. When she isn’t running, biking or swimming, she’s praying for the day her (almost) 16 year old twins, Kaylee and David, can drive themselves to all their activities. She’s probably also drinking a nice, local beer.
Since meeting the girls at The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans, Bari has gotten into the best shape of her life. She mentored a new runner on the recent c25k mentoring program through the Runner’s Corner in the ‘Hood and is so proud that her mentee is still running! Bari loves to connect with new runners and triathletes and is very excited to help Lisa out with the running side of Shrinking Jeans. Since she’s completely addicted to her iPhone and iPad, Bari is easy to find online.
