So last week’s diary entry was all about the aches and pains and possible injuries and how I was going to find a way to manage the outcome of my MRI results and do what I could.

The MRI results are in and I do NOT have a stress fracture- thank goodness!  The cute, easy-on-the-eyes sports doctor gave me a clean bill of health, with some mild IT band stuff going on, gave me a cortisone/steroid shot in my left hip, some recommended tips to manage the soreness and sent me on my way.  Oh yeah, he also said I could start running again.

My first post-injury run was Friday, 4.03 miles in 50 min with an average pace of 12:24min/mile.  I took it nice and easy and utilized my beloved 5:1 run/walk method (run 5 min/walk 1 min).  I cried 20 minutes into the run when I realized that I was still running and not in pain.  Sore- yes; pain- no.  I was so happy and relieved!

I’M BACKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
