Thursday Three: Foolin' | The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

I wanted to write something all clever for April Fools Day. Something to freak y’all out.  Cause I wanted to be all, APRIL FOOLS! Bwa ha ha!

Best laid plans, right? Oh well, it’s the thought that counts.

But, in the spirit of FOOLING, I thought I’d discuss ways I FOOL myself. I have plenty of mind games I play, little lies I tell myself to justify some of my non-healthy behavior.

Here are my best:

1) Mini muffins and cupcakes are better for you. And you can have, like, 10, and it’s way better than one normal sized treat. If you put vegetables (carrots, zucchini) in said baked goods, well, they’re even HEALTHIER. Even if they are smothered in an inch of cream cheese frosting.

2)  The salad bar is always a healthy choice. Nevermind the cheese, croutons and high fat dressing all over my lettuce and vegetables. As long as there are veggies involved, all is forgiven. See above. On that note, tempura is okay as long as broccoli, mushrooms and green beans are the items encased in that glistening, crunchy casing. Sweet Jesus.

3) If you eat quickly and standing up, it never happened. This also applies to eating in a car. Also? Food snatched off of your child’s plate is calorie free.

So Sisters (and Brothers), how are you f-f-foolin’ (shout out to Def Leppard there, couldn’t help it!) yourself? Tell all, either in the comments, or link to a post on your own blog.
