It’s Mailbag Monday! And time to pull out a question from our Sisterhood hat and try to answer it!
This one’s for all us sisters and it’s one we get a lot.
“How do you all get such freakin awesome giveaways?”
OK, maybe it’s not worded quite like that, but the answer is the same. And I won’t try to spill all our Sisterhood secrets here no, they’re not illegal if that’s what you’re thinking…, but it started out small. As in, we just started writing to our favorite companies.
Some of them got back to us and some of them didn’t. When I started contacting companies myself, I was surprised how far a well-written letter could go and how well-received it could be! Turns out, it’s just a matter of asking.
Well then when the Sisterhood started to grow along with our readership, companies started noticing and then contacting us, since, you know, we’re famous now and all on a Top 50 Women’s Blogs list and all. And as we go to conferences like Fitbloggin’ and different fitness expos, we meet more people and we meet more companies and we form great friendships and great relationships, like the ones we have with EA Sports Active and Weight Watchers, just to name a couple. And it just goes on from there.
The world of giveaways and relationships just starts to take on a life of its own after a while. And it all starts just by asking. I almost wish the answer were more complicated! I think it might just be because we’re a nice bunch of hookers chicks.
