Every Sunday, a Sister is highlighted by another Sister. Last Sunday, Nancy was highlighted by April. When Nancy submitted her post about the sister she wanted to highlight, I just had to chuckle really, I wondered how much she paid Nancy to write about her, lol!. See, the person Nancy chose to highlight is one so very deserving, one that has been my BFF for 6 years, one of the original founders of The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans (the other is Melissa). Yes, Nancy chose to write about our very own Christy.
Nancy’s Words…..
First, I want to say how excited and touched I was to see my name in the Sister Spotlight last week. I never expected that to happen again. I am very happy that it was for just one reason. When the Sisterhood brought back the Sister Spotlight, I loved that the person picked got to pick the next featured sister. I immediately knew who I would have picked had I gotten that chance and now I do have the chance….
It was a no brainer for me to pick Christy as this weeks Sister Spotlight. She has been a total inspiration to me since my very beginnings with the Sisterhood. Christy and I go back to March 28, 2009. I sent her an email about joining the Sisterhood and we have been friends ever since.
I don’t even know how to tell you about how wonderful Christy has been to me, but I’ll try. She has picked me up (many times) when I was down. She has kicked my ass when it needed kicking. She has encouraged beyond measure. She has helped me figure out Weight Watchers. And the best thing ever was the first time she called me “hooker“. I felt like I had truly earned a place in her heart that day. I can tell you that she has a permanent place in mine.
The things that Christy has accomplished are awesome. She has lost over 50 pounds. I think that is the right number. She ran a half marathon. She helped EA Sports Active with the More Workouts campaign. She is an awesome mother and phenomenal photographer. She is one of the editors and founders of the Sisterhood. I can not even imagine what the Sisterhood of the Shrinking jeans would be like with out her. I know there are so many things that I am forgetting, but I think she will forgive me.
So, that is my pick for the Sister Spotlight. There were many sisters I would have picked if I had more than one pick. But, I had to go with my heart and right now, my heart belongs to Christy. Thank you so much for all your support and inspiration. You have helped me realize that I am worth the work and effort of getting into shape and losing the weight. You have made such a difference in my life and I just hope you know how special you are to me. I love you hooker!!
